Managed to strip out the intercooler and radiator today... real pain trying to remove the rad without a fan spanner, but hopefully the one I've ordered will arrive for a rebuild next weekend
Dropped the sump too, really cant see how anyone can do this without removing the rad first as those steel pipes really do get in the way, after some effort found the only way I could actually remove the pan was by removing the steering tie bar and jacking the car off the springs to create clearance over the axle.... not sure if this is the book way of doing the job, but it worked for me!
The fuel pump bolt feels nice and tight, decided against actually removing it, but may reconsider this next week when I drop the sump pan next week to install a new gasket.
EGR components were nice and easy to remove, good soaking in WD40 beforehand may of helped, but its nice to see that they used copper coated bolts here, so absolutely no evidence of binding.
Whilst under the front end I noticed that the rubber on the steering knuckle ball joints is wrecked, so I reckon that's another job for the very near future
just need to wait for the new parts to roll in now, really don't want to revisit this area of the car again....ever!
alloy Rad
viscous fan
fan spanner
thermostat
EGR bypass kit
camshaft seal
sump gasket
need to look into lower coolant hoses...complicated by mine being difference from those available on ebay etc... and my fuel cooler is different from the one in rave......
