Dropped the old girl off to the smash repairers.

A new bonnet, bull bar, grille and hopefully A pillar covers.
A work mate picked me up and asked what the problem was! What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
The bumper bar is cracked and a bit broken, and there's a couple of dings in the crappy genuine bull bar and the bonnet had the slightest of bows from where the bar pushed back into it.

Pick her up in week, and then to fix the water pump leak and fit new front discs.

Did an oil & filter change a 11 months & about 9.5K km.

Topped up the transfer case with 150ml after about 2 years.

    Greased the prop shafts.

Rotated the tyres and while I was there scrubbed the pads on the concrete to remove the glaze.

Have to say the pads I'm using are very hard.

Not sure how long I've had them but there's very little wear. Would have to be about 4-5 years.

Might have to look at something else as I'm not ecstatic about the braking.

After two days of belting around the Sunshine Coast I can say both LTFT's are low single figures on LPG,, no pinging, and LPG makes 11HP more than PULP at 4250rpm.
Not that I've ever had it to 4250,,,,

    I can heartily recommend
    Revolution Automotive at Caloundra.

I passed my D2 onto it's new owner today, I became very attached to it over the years but it was taking up valuable parking space.
I casually mentioned to some one non landy related I was thinking of selling it and that night the word got around quick. The buyer approached me and was so keen to take it off my hands even at 10pm he wanted to check it out. He took it for a test drive and sold it to himself, I did not have to say a word.
Sad day for me. but I move on

    Lady Daphne II

    Hi all,
Lady Daphne II has been residing at our rural retreat (i.e. bush block in the South Burnett of Qld) for a couple of weeks now. So far she has been behaving very well - smooth and satisfyingly powerful on the highway - but she has had the odd transgression. A couple of times already those friendly Mexican chaps have dropped in for a visit. So far they always head off again after turning-off and turning-on the ignition and don't seem to cause any trouble when they are here. But I would like to find out how to make them not arrive unannounced in the future. (Perhaps after Donald builds his Wall they won't visit anymore??)
Good news is that I had a look at the front axle drive shaft and the double cardan joint seems to have grease nipples on both unis, as does the UJ at the front diff. And all the UJs look to be well lubricated. I wasn't able to find a nipple on the front sliding joint - should there be one?
The rear shaft has a greaseable UJ at the park brake and one for the sliding joint, and the usual rubber 'dough-nut' at the rear diff end. Does all this sound OK?
Have yet to closely examine all the coolant, fuel, ATF and PAS hoses in the engine bay to check their condition. Been crook as a dog with a cold this week, so crawling under a D2 with deep plastic side steps hasn't appealed... (yes, I'm a wooze...)
