Pulled the interior part on Chafy today to lift the carpet and dry it out after my issues with a
    leaking windscreen. What a mission.

The dismantling led to other issue so with the drink holder (don't ask) which is basically fixed again and I saw how bad my centre console is. Either needs a a fair bit of Magyvering to fix some cracks near the handbrake and making new tabs to screw the electric winDow button holder frame into or look at a good second hand one if there is any that aren't damaged in those areas.

Got to love people who are to rough and in a hurry with these things and then you are left holding the ball and have to fix them.

will also replace my gear internal rubber whilst it is apart and repair the outer gear lever rubber that has a split with some bike tube and Sika to prevent water getting into my nicely run in Ascroft HD geabox as you can't get new ones any more.

Busy day tomorrow to get Chaffy drive able ( fix and fit new gear lever rubbers' put driver seat back in temporarily and hook up handbrake cable and put fear lever knobs back on. )

    Man's work is never done

So thermostat stuck open perhaps, but before I launched into the pain of changing it out I decided to clean the sensor connector. It was a bit grimy and the wiring conduit over the front of the engine was also brittle so I replaced that too.

Thankfully that seems to have rectified things with the Nanocom temp is now sitting solidly in the low 80 degs.

    FIT ANOTHER GAUGE!!

Sorry for shouting, but the D2 temp gauge is my absolute pet hate. Utterly useless. As when it finally tells you the temp is high it is already too late. I would love to meet the committee that designed that

    Yes.
But it’s no different to any other gauge on today’s vehicles.

I would be happy if my TD5 auto would return those temps, mine would be up around 95/96, i would like under 90 at cruise but with spottie's and H/d trans cooler blocking airflow that might not happen.

Hi Whitey. Mine has Cibie Super Oscars mid mounted right in front of the radiator and both engine oil cooler and manual trans gear oil cooler in front of the radiator. The key to mine is an 82degree inline top rad hose thermostat with stock 3 way bottom hose thermostat removed. Cheers
