But you can use a 12 point socket which everyone who works on their cars would have
12 point sockets are the most common socket out there

    Bloody Horn going off

At 00.30 and 04.30 the horn was blasting out of my locked D2a, It was the main horns and Not the alarm beeping.
Bloody annoying and other than simply pulling the fuse on the horn is there any other way to stop this.

Note: to remove the caliper you don't need to undo the 12 point 19mm bolts, just the two smaller bolts at the far end of the caliper itself.

I can't remember if I had to remove the carrier to remove the brake shields on my D2 part car tho.

Most socket sets have the 12 point type sockets, so almost certainly you have the correct tools.

I have a nice 3/8 drive Kinchrome socket set(called Lock On), nice sockets strong and they do as advertised(ie. the additional grip), but they're 6 point sockets. Dunno if they come in 12point types tho.

Thanks all for the pointers, All sorted,

used my 19 mm sidchrome socket. Things definitely look different in daylight. Removed the caliper and then the disc to gain access to the dust shield. Bottom bolt had snapped off . No easy outs so will need to get fixed I a couple of weeks when Chaffy goes in for a check over and another 10000 k service. Fixed for now with a zip tyre to stop the rattling. All put back to gether. My new windscreen also went in today. Great to have a clear view again.

Chaffy is driving like a new one again

    cheers Chris
