Had been getting a red warning light and bonging from the ACE system recently.
Had a look today and noted that there was minimal circulation in the reservoir. Found that the recently replaced suction pipe to the pump was kinked rather than a nice curve in it.
It was a Britpart piece and was already very soft. Should have known better. I'll be getting a genuine one to replace.

I took the old girl into Whyatts in Geraldton for an insurance quote for the rear end damage I did up in the gulf and to get a cooler thermostat and a windscreen washer nozzle.
While I was there I also got a quote for a windscreen replacement along with the nasty plastic plenum and side strips that are buggered.
I'll take the quotes into my insurance mob this morning so that I can get the work done on her and bring her back up to scratch

I'd be interested in the quote too. Any chance of posting? The various plastic trims around our windscreen are well stuffed after being removed and replaced too many times when the new windsreen leaked....and leaked......and still leaked.....
    Thanks,
    Pete

There is a bloke in Malaysia that makes fibreglass replicas of the A pillar trims and the plenum cover.
I have seen a plenum cover and it looks good.
It's funny but I initially had reservations about the plenum cover as it had no holes for the filter foam. However when I looked closely the air doesn't come in through the foam anyway. Why LR put it there is a mystery.
The bloke is on ebay and there have been postings here about it.
The key issue is to make sure that any windscreen fitter knows that he has to remove the bonnet or at least one side to remove the plenum cover INTACT. I have just Sikaflexed my new to me RH A pillar trim on , which replaced the one which was hit by a rock on recent trip and broken neatly in half.

And I think he does the A and B trims also

    Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I did get some snow chain action with a 12 seater GM Savana when escaping from Yosemite Valley. I miss my Disco. I have not seen it for nearly 4 weeks.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

LR part $35 fitted. I think I paid about that for the cr@ppy Britpart one.
Hopefully no more red ACE lights. I'll work out the amber one eventually.
