Ive used metal cable ties before on some head units, otherwise you can buy the tools from SCA. Knowing LR either would work lol

I'm pretty sure(as in 99.9%) that's an impossible task.
I've only pulled brothers TD5 radio out briefly(to locate rattles and squeaks), and it seems much the same as the D1 layout, which IS impossible to fit aerial plug without removing unit.
The top dash 'vent looking' strip, forward of the small dash mat doesn't access far enough rearwards of the unit underneath to allow access .... and I think there's a metal cage under there anyhow.
Picked up a D2 t/case today that has this in it.

If that is out of a pre 2002 it is interesting that the lock switch is bridged, so the light will not come on, without the wires being added up to the loom in the console underneath the power window switches.
