mine crossed 412000 kms, put my dad on its "thou shalt not drive me list" (it simply will not start for him, but does always, every time for me!) it also eagerly awaits its new engine mounts because it is currently awful to drive!

I bought a cargo barrier in January. It arrived on Wednesday. Some courier stuff up and then a courier stuff up.
The instructions say to remove the trim above the tailgate. Then remove the outer M6 bolt from each of the tail gate hinges. Hmmm
That might work for a D3/4 but not for a D2.
The manufacturer is investigating.
Tail gate hinges. Not behind the upper trim.
Behind the upper trim. There are 2 M6 captive nuts, for baby seat mounting The supplied bracket, visible on the right, needs a bend of about 90 degrees to fit correctly

Haha! last couple of days have been an initiation to Land Rover ownership (Had my D2a for roughly 2 weeks)
first thing is that my brother wanted to swap cars with me, and I spent the day stressing about what he was going to do to it. Does anyone else experience this anxiety when you loan your Discovery out, or is it just me?
Anyway, this evening I was at Church when a horn starts beeping in the car park, then stops after 10 seconds or so. 15 minutes later it starts up again. and everyone is looking at me. Turn out the ICE antitheft system has a motion sensor that doesn't like the wind allowed in when the windows are left even a small part open. Fun. does anyone know if you can disconnect some wiring, or pull out a fuse to stop this? car gets too warm in 30+ degrees to want to close it all up.
the other thing that I have noticed is that it has a body leak that ends up dripping into roughly the centre of the passenger footwell from under the dash. I came to the conclusion that it is a result of the windscreen wiper surround (plenum cover?) having several large cracks in it, which is allowing water to run down between steel/plastic bodywork below the windscreen, and eventually into the cabin. is this accurate, or is there another more likely cause?
Overall, the ownership experience has been good so far. I've taken it for a service/inspection at my local Land Rover independant (Hardy's Automotive, Grovedale VIC) and they turned up just one mechanical issue one very minor oil leak (fuel pressure regulator? Cam cover?) that we will fix in due course, so pretty happy with the old girl.
Long post, so cheers if you got to the end.
Cal
To disarm the sensor just lock it with you're key. That way you can leave the windows down.
