Ditch the heat shield - you wont regret it
Bob, I have a second battery next to the turbo so IMHO not a good idea to ditch it.

I have polished the inside of the heatshield and added another at the end of the Optima blue top.

So far the Optima Blue top is 2.75 years old and still OK.

No steam and runs beautifully. I have to replace the O2 sensors as they were washed with coolant and sustained damage (it's only running open loop and is throwing the 02 codes for both sides).

I will give it a few thousand and report back as to how it goes.

    Cheers

FInally got the winch bar indicator and headlight unit side light working properly. No more trailer flashing, no more rapid flash.
And as a bonus, I set up the auto tyre deflate things about 25 psi for the rear and about 20 psi for the front.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

This would look nicer with some chrome dress rims......

I'd be interested in your thoughts on open loop running...
O2 sensors only have one job, fuel ecoonomy. Any time you matt the loud pedal they arent even involved....

Listen you two...some tall bloke grabbed my shiny 5 spokers...and all I had left was black.

On another note I drove her to work today. Rapped it out through the gears a few.times (well first and second...thirds a bit tall) and it ran like a dream. Sat on 80 to 83c in West End in 30 degrees ambient.

And Pedro...yes with the loud pedal down all the time it wouldn't get into closed loop anyway What happened to your Discovery 2 today? What happened to your Discovery 2 today?. So for people like me (and you) 02 sensors are a bit redundant...

    Cheers
