What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Today, the last flexible hose was replaced. The brake system was bled, over two litres of brake fluid used. Tyhe brakes feel soft, and yet go hard, very hard if the brake pedal has a double push. I am thinking I have ingested air into the systems, by not keeping the resevoir full, am I right? On a single 'emergency' brake, the ABS does kick in.
Prevoiusly, when pushing the brake pedal twice, the pedal would slowly sink, this, with the new flexible hoses, no longer happens.

They look grey in the sunlight, they are black. It is just paint. It rubbed of on the brake testing.

This is the way I always bled race car systems, (every race meeting, practice and before the first race) and how the bloke that taught me did it, and he was a NASCAR crew chief and Group A and V8 mechanic.
I've done this on the D2 several times, most recently after replacing the hoses.
The only car it never worked on was a Defender so go figure.....
I had to make a pressure bleeder to get a pedal on it.

Clear hose onto the nipples on all four calipers, open the nipples and continue to pump and flush fresh fluid through all four at once.
Don't worry about nipping the bleeds back up and getting air back into the calipers if your clear pvc house is long enough and it's a snug fit onto the nipple, just make sure your MC doesn't pump air.
Once there is no air at all emanating from a nipple, nip the bleed nipples back up and test.
I do this by myself, and I don't use one way valves on the hoses.

You should have a rock hard pedal.
A lot of people complain about a spongy pedal on the D2, I have an excellent pedal, this bleed technique has never failed me on it.

A Modulator power bleed with a nanacom might not hurt either.

I have a pair of the pliers type ones which work well. BTW the heads pivot so you can get in at a number of angles, and they lock closed so you can tension the clamp to drag it up the hose into position.
However I bought a pair with the cable and they don't work on big clips. They just flex.
Maybe mine are crap ones.

Did that 4 times before I bled the lines asper RAVE. The brakes work well. I think I may have introduced air, I'll have another crack next weekend. It's not like I'm driving any where at he moment.

I Did mine old school, started at the furthermost rear and next rear then further most front then other front. And did a mod bleed and had firm brakes. I never read rave .

I just did a modulator bleed x4. It is better than it was before the brake lines were changed. win!

I do the power and mod bleeds after my big flush too.

Occasionally I'll just do a mod bleed as well, especially when I've had the three amigoes appear. And I'm not going to jinx myself as it's been months.....[emoji56]

can someone remind me why the D2 front tyre pressure is so low compared to the rear?
