PS I wash it very occasionally.
I was filling up diesel from a jerry can and the van slipped. The rubber nozzle from the filler attachment fell down the filler hose.
Any ideas on how to get it out? Or is it in the tank now?
A few questions to ponder.
Do you need to get the part out of the tank?
How long is the part? Will it go past the bend?
I'd be inclined to leave it in there. Does the tank fill up ok?

We were doing other stuff to his tank area( I think we replaced the rubber grommet thing at the filler neck), and we had to remove the main hose from filler to tank.
Having done so, the nozzle lost down there was easy to see at the tank end(elbow).
The elbow is quite sharp and the 20 cm nozzle wouldn't go past it without a bit of effort.
So I'd say run tank down(eg. to half or 1/4 full. Release tank end of main hose, see if it's stuck somewhere in there. Maybe 30 mins work, and 2hrs for a good shower afterwards to clean out all the muck that you will get covered in under there! [biggrin]

I don’t need the part, it’s small enough to pass the bend and has (I used a camera and torch to see down to the bend.
It seems to be OK, I think it’s ended up in the tank. Not sure how much damage it can do in there!

It is not going to block the inlet to the pump, that is on the bottom. It may interfere with the level sender arm/float.
If it is in the tank, it is relatively easy to remove the pump, you may be able to get it out that way. You do not need to follow RAVE and remove the trims, just pull the carpet out from under, it goes back easily as well.
