Didn't mean not scare you off, flex plate alignment is dead simple. It's not a precise alignment, just needs to be bolted up correctly to suit flywheel. There's 3 holes in the flywheel you stick a socket through to reach the 3 torque converter bolts. Just need to think when you put the flex plate on

Yeah, i haven't installed yet, but can see that been an issue, from how my box feels.

No free lunches, always a trade off.

Installed the acoustic cover on the engine, removed the cargo barrier, vacuumed the car, washed the car mats. Cleaned the interior.

Put the car through a car wash for its birthday! it is 17now. Build date was 11-10-2003

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

    Just a small heads up.
I have found that if I start the engine then immediately turn off , say after being told by SWMBO that I have forgotten something on the next start , M&S seems almost guaranteed.
A couple of days ago I did this .
I tried to clear it with Nanocom but it came back immediately.
So I drove around in third gear for a while.

On reaching the destination tried again to clear and it cleared no problem and has not been back.

So do not start then shut down immediately as it seems to confuse the CANBUS.

There were originally CANBUS error in the ECU and transmission computer but then only in transmission computer.

I don’t know what you could do without a Nanocom.I guess drive around in limp mode until you could get to a code reader. Not really an option if towing.

    regards PhilipA

It might be a temporary low voltage situation causing it, too, from the two bouts of high current draw?

You've shortened the throw and have sped up the change so are pushing the synchro's more quickly/harder.

Are we talking up or downshifts?
