I don't know if the torque converter was replaced or not But when I took the D2a in for it's first (on my watch) transmission service the oil that came out of it was a nasty browny black colour.

a new timing chain job it seems , thanks to a wayward bolt
Getting the top bolt on the diff guard fitted at Rova Range. My fingers are just too short.
Embarrassed it for another year haha https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d990856822.jpg
Rear diff pinion bolt came undone.
I was heading to a place called Tuncurry, a trip of 1050 Km to purchas a Tvan. About 150 km from home on the Hume highway there was a reduction in speed limit.
When I backed off the throttle there was an almighty scream which sounded like a diff. I was intending to pull over when a suitable spot was found
but next thing the rear tailshaft has detached from the rear diff with pinion flange still attached to the shaft, at 80 kph.
I pulled the the shaft off the transfer case, removed the pinion flange and tried to refit the flange to the diff.
The pinion was protruding from the diff at a horrible angle and I was unable to get the flange back on.
After doing some driving(centre diff locked) I was able to get it back on. I stopped at the next servo to get some diff oil.
All sounded good, so I continued my trip on the front diff, got to my destination, purchased a Tvan and drove home.
Had it been a D2 that did not have a center diff it would have been a very expensive flatbed truck home.
Lucky man.
Maybe Jesus loves you as he does me.(front double cardan failed without separating and trashing transmission)
