The TD5 wont lock up in first till forever,, even when hot, second should be much better.
Torque converter is the usual problem,, all you can do is flush the tranny and hope for the best.
continued operation of the car with the auto in an unlocked state will overheat the auto fluid and cause a failure to proceed moment---;)

It will be 2-3rd that slips in the autos imho.
Sounds like it's just the torque converter running while unlocked :)

Hows the head Muppet?

Still on the car :D
Got a severe case of can't be bothered, plus waiting on a couple of tools. I'd say it will sit for the next three weeks while I'm OS

Having kind of the same issues after towing the trailer to Amphitheater and back. Seems when the auto is cold it won't shift into 2nd. After 5-10 min it seems to be ok....

What happened today.
Brakes got a huge workout today as a "Zombie" just wandered out into the road in front of me with no care if I ran her down or not. Daughter in passenger seat got really upset. I on the other hand sat there amazed at how well Stu pulled up. Lol

Wobba LR produced a video at the time of the D2 release comparing D2 to a number of other vehicles such as the ML Mercedes, Jeep Grand Cherokee etc. Unfortunately they had to withdraw it because model updates to other vehicles just after release but it braked better than any other 'SUV" around. Cheers

Yesterday replaced the RH rear anti-roll bar link. Thanks for the tip Slunnie!

I fitted EGT and boost gauges which require constant 12V to keep max memory.
I used piggyback fuses into the passenger fuse box.
Strange effect when I used the heated rear window fuse in that it would drop out the gauges and set off gauge alarms about 1km from home. I think that someone turned on the heated rear window and it was turning off.
Fitted the 12v constant to the fuel flap. Oops no XYZ (M&S flashing and no dash indication) when turned on but OK if off. I was just running my multimeter up and down until I found 12v.
Finally went to RAVE as the fuse box logo only shows a book and found the clock memory fuse and added the gauges to that.
It just goes to show how the electrics of a D2 are mainly controlled by the various computers and are interdependent. Who would have thought the fuel flap was connected to the XYZ?
