My turbo oil seals have failed, thought that a new cartridge might be a viable option but NO! ..... my exhaust housing is cracked so it’s gone to the metal bin and I’m on the hunt for a new turbo. Pics are both outside and inside views of the crack.

Replaced the crank angle sensor.
Had intermittent no starts and one check engine light/engine stop in the last week without a logged fault.
The old one's O ring had gone ta ta, and the plug end was full of oil.
We'll see how it goes.
Seeing as we're about to shoot through for about six months the car has decided it'll try to make it as hard as possible.

I've even been nice to it lately. At least the stud isn't broken so I should be able to get it out when I take the manifold off. Maybe. Hopefully.
Sad to say I didn't put it there. I only found it when I took the heat shield off so I could get a good squint at the exhaust leak(s). As you say ingenious. [bigsmile1]
I saw the soot at turbo / manifold joint and the manifold bolts all looked OK but stupidly I didn't check them. When I got back from getting a new gasket the first thing I saw when I started to get the turbo flange unbolted was the missing manifold nut. There was only a short screech a week or so ago which is probably when the turbo/manifold gasket let go. Fingers crossed that the manifold isn't warped but I bet it is....[bigsad]
