It shouldn't matter as the DC phases against itself and there shouldn't be notable angle through the single uni to create oscillations.

Just got off the phone with Hardy Spicer in Perth (Bunbury don't have a drive line workshop yet) Aiden was super helpful and almost sounded like a bit of a Landy person! He explained that they could install a HD double cardan to my existing shaft for about $800+/- but talking further he said they had standard size complete shafts on hand (20 odd) for $500, these are fully greaseable. I will be heading to the big smoke in a week or so and will take the busted shaft along and see what options I have.
Currently I am thinking just a std replacement will do nicely as my D2a is basically stock, automatic and I don't do hard core four wheeling, plus it wouldn't be a 6 week wait. I don't really hear of people actually snapping the front shaft, more the joints failing due to lack of grease.
cheers

Agree, hence the question
Redd, the standard shaft ( if assembled correctly ) will be totally fine for your application.
I'll probably have a spare cardan sleeve around here somewhere if I look hard enough if you have no joy in Perth, as I rebuild my own
The U/J's will only fail prematurely if the car has been lifted above 2" due to the needle rollers running too hot on the highway, overheating and dissipating the grease, as well as old age on non greaseable units .
The standard shafts can break when giving the berries in on/off Traction situations.
I run 2020 unis on the GL shaft no vibration at all and I have their rear tail shaft as well no issues
Yeah I do 35psi of boost and 550nm at the motor on 35s haha GL handle it fineQuote:

The company three years ago at least was great to deal with and the price was more than competitive against all competition. Was a nice piece of kit!

Discovery Heavy Duty Front Driveshaft
Discovery's drive shaft failure is quite common due to its design. British Parts of Utah offers reinforced/redesigned drive shaft for its longevity.
1. Greasable U Joints: Front driveshaft is located under the HOT catalytic converter which can accelerate the lubrication failure. Our driveshaft is now greasable (factory unit or any aftermarket shaft is not greasable), so it lasts longer with little maintenance.
2. Heavy Duty Construction: Double Cardan U joint is OVERSIZE in order to cope with high torque and load.
