I often had that effect on NCOs. Not always, or even often, in a good way.

Gearbox was out 60,000Km ago to replace the "O" ring on the pump and i fitted a "heavy duty" flex plate at the time. Would have thought it would have died long ago if it didn't go back together properly at the time.
Shack's description of the sequence of events would be what has occurred, I have seen it a couple of times, once was recently when pulling the box to replace a torque converter, the interference had lasted 7 years since a Perth "transmission specialist" had replaced it. The box required new pump gears.

    TD5 torque converter = 98mm stack height
V8 torque converter into TD5 ( or probably V8 as well, but check ) =73mm stack height.

Either needs a couple of mm between flex plate and mounting faces on the converter. ( check before bolting up )

    Wipers!!

The washer tube to the passenger side washer (on the bonnet) has **** itself. I was able to hold it in place with a zip tie, but the nozzles seem blocked.
I did have a lovely swim in the lake.

That's a bit of a worry, the seal is not supposed to be on the thread. In fact, the thread should always be isolated from the brake fluid.

Correct. I used a pneumatic bleeder and it was leaking air through the thread…

Absolutely disgusted, my grandson who has only just started his first year, wouldn't try to pass this off as remotely acceptable. For a Land Rover "specialist" it's pure incompetence. No wonder he couldn't hold down paid employment.

Just jammed and kinked into the approximate position.

    The hose wasn't even started.

    The result.

    Incompetence personified.

Yes, you can get new aftermarket ones, they are $$$ IMO but better than original.

I can't remember where I saw them, might have been the U.S. but I think I saw some in Australia as well recently.
