So what did I do today............... I removed the spigot bearing out of the crankshaft with a piece of bread. Saw this being done on YouTube however doubted this as authentic until this afternoon. One piece of wholemeal bread, broke it up and then pushed it into the hole, then pushed a drift down the centre with some persuasion with a copper hide mallet.
Amazingly the bush just pushed out. Dug the bread out with a small pick, cleaned the hole up with a small piece of emery, no damage at all, perfect. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't done it myself. Very impressive.
Hmm. I always used grease, but I guess the principle is the same.
