Firstly I replaced the rear driveshaft rubber donut. Next tightened the handbrake up. It now is fully on at 2 - 3 clicks. I have noticed that when the car's in neutral it still rocks back & forward a few inches (6" maybe?). Is this normal for a D2?

Then the real fun began. I got inspired by a previous post to adjust my door handles. Fronts were done in less than 20 minutes. Rear drivers side tho...

I took the door lining off. Viewed the issue & decided that the wire that is between the handle & lock mechanism had something worn. When I activated the interior opener I noticed that the mechanism moved further than when outside handle was activated. So I figured that the easiest solution was to remove the wire & re-bend it about 5mm shorter. Here's my work:

And attached it to the door handle:

Then fiddled around with my hand inside the door at a weird contorted position for nearly an hour trying to get the lock side of the wire in position.

Then I dropped the wire deep inside a crevasse inside the door never to be seen if again. Looked with a flexible camera with no luck.

Tomorrow? Re-bend the pesty thing out of more wire & try again. Stay tuned , tomorrow's going to be an exciting day!!

Came out to get to work only to find that the remote wouldn't open it and the key wouldn't either, and it was super locked as well...
Two hrs later....and I was in.
Then spent the rest of the day fitting a new door actuator and fixing the lock.

Yep - handbrake works on the tailshaft, not the brakes, so a bit of take-up. SO Grasshopper - always handbrake 1st, then Park if you have an auto.

Lost power just as I started into the Adelaide hills at night, crawled into the city an found a well lit area to work. Had dropped the turbo to intercooler pipe out, hose clamp was sitting on the pipe so reassembled and made the rest of the way up the Southern expressway. Not sure how/ why it came out sure I had done it tight about 5, 000km's ago when I put new silicon hoses on.

    windscreen

left work to go home and the rearview mirror is on the seat, just fell off. I had a new windscreen put in a few months ago to try a fix a leak around it.
So tried super glue and failed.
looked and found the right mirror adhesive, clean up the mess, followed the instruction, the button fixed to the screen then go and push the mirror into place.
    CRACK!!
You're ****** kidding me, crack the windscreen with one hand.....

OK, new screen, go to pick up the Disco. no rearview mirror..........

    Refitted the retrimmed roof liner
Reinstalled all of the interior panels
    Had a service done
Bruce Davis has done some magic on it - under the tapper cover, in the electronics and with the turbo, bloody hell it flys now!!!
    Windscreen leak repaired
Just waiting to pick it up - current rear 4.11 CW/P being changed to my spare Ashcroft so rubber donut tailshaft can be reinstalled after all of these years.
New Lifeline 150ah second battery installed - this big bertha couldn't be dropped into the rear bin, the bin side had to be opened and closed again.

Just love driving this thing again - after 15 years I still love it!
    Cheers

Hey mate, it sits in the drivers side bin in the boot. Its too big to drop in the top because of the bin lid hinges even with the lid removed, so the bin side cover needed to be opened up and the battery installed and then the cover replaced - but only just!

That particular battery also has bolt terminals, not battery terminals, so the leads need to be adjusted to rings also.
    Cheers

Gotcha. Mine has seats in the back so it's not gonna work. I've got a 65ah under the bonnet, just keen for more aH
