When i used to travel on the highways a night and called into a truck stop the truckies always got the biggest and best looking meals compared to the slops us mere mortals received . it there some sort of code out there?
Simples! The truckies will be coming past many times, you, on the other hand, may only pull in once or twice.
To test it, next time park out the back, change into singlet, shorts and thongs. When you get to the counter, remark on the abundance (or lack) of "mongs in caravans" then order your meal.

    parts warehouse....

My office has become a parts warehouse....
Now to smuggle them home to the shed and find time to install and buy the other bits...

    Attachment 139342

Just as I had removed a couple of items from the preventative maintenance list....

For those of us paranoid about our ZF trans temperature I found that oil thermostats exist...

Mocal Oilstat Oil Thermostat -8 AN male - 574-OT2F - Speedflow

I have my circuit sorted out and as I am converting to 8AN fittings...it will be the coolest 80 degree operating trans going around...

My D2a has become very booring over the last few months.
Nothing has broken down and she has been performing perfectly.

So it’s sat in the shed for the last few months?

    Full service then...

First time poster, ,long time lurker and really enjoy the forums. Replaced shocks, then did a full service on my Disco 2a (trans fluid and filter ,replaced all the oils) and it was running like a dream.... then the red battery light came on. Previous trick of spraying alternator with brake cleaner failed to generate any power so she sits on the driveway waiting on a new alternator to arrive. Now I have also replaced the rocker cover gasket so it should be good to go this weekend!

She has done about 10,000k's since I had the head gaskets and everything else done on the motor including 3 trips up the useless loop road
It has taken me 3 years and about $15,000 to get her to this stage of reliabillity, I am just hoping there won't be any other unpleasant surprises on our trip to the Kimberlies and the Gulf this year.

There is a Qld place selling Derale.
I think you would install it after the original cooler and before a new aftermarket cooler.
