Yes, you can, but maybe you need not do so because being a manual box gearing and engine braking maybe sufficient. Me, I have an auto and for long steep technical descents I will be in low range with CDL engaged and the AT box in MANUAL MODE first or second gear but you do have to remember to knock the shifter to N when arriving at the bottom or you will stall the engine. Same deal for you, disengage the clutch before the engine stalls. I like it because you drive the vehicle and you can regulate your speed of descent rather than have the vehicle drive you.

.... depends on the situation like when you are carefully picking your way downhill in low range and low gear whilst using engine braking to control your descent throttle input is often times not called for - idle speed and gravity is sufficient until you meet an obstacle or arrive at the bottom. If you do a 4WD Training Course this stuff is part of the skill set they teach.

Speedo needle, at times, decides not to work or has erratic swings and then corrects itself. Weeks may pass before it occurs again.
HAWKEYE eventually revealed the problem and I now have an ABS sensor on its way to me from ROVERLOAD OFFROAD SPARES.

You may just have a dirty plug at the rear axle.
But too late now.

That would have been an easy fix but no joy there .. the break is down at the hub end of the cable, I can induce the fault by manipulating the cable at that lower end. It’s my fault though because I didn’t provide sufficient support for the cable when I installed the hub last year
