Left work to do a "quick errand"! Starter motor quit whilst in mall undercover car park. I eventually got it to go so went home to swap disco's. Arrived at home to a diesel oil slick the length of the driveway and where I parked the previous night, fuel escaping from somewhere above the fuel tank. Probably happening over the last 2 days but as I leave home in the dark and get home in the dark hadn't noticed it.

Bit annoying cos the TD5 is my daily driver.

Fuel manifold pipe to engine has worn through . you need a new one.

Passengers window regulator roller issue, snapped so used washers to make one up.
Tack welded the stud back onto the arm, all worked perfectly, with many test lifts and on the last effort to wind it up to pack it all up, the tack weld snapped off .. regulator bunk again!
Went and got a new one now, will fit another day.

Observation: in having pulled the innards of the door off for the first time(on this D2), noted about 2 inched of dried up muddy/dusty build up at the bottom.
Had to clean it all out, turned out to be built up mud sediment ... bloody tons of it .. eventually found the base metal at the bottom of the door!
Looks like some previous owner had dunked the old girl in some mucky pond and it sat for a while, hence the muck build up.

Have pulled off drivers and both rear passengers doors long time ago, but didn't notice the same build up on those doors tho .. so thinking maybe they drained out better.
In my archaeological dig that unearthed this kilo and a half of talc like dust, I found another half broken plastic roller too ... so the window reg had already been done previously.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

It means he needs to rub it for the genie to fix his engine.
