    Changed the R380 bias plate.

An easy job, about 8 minutes to change the bias plate. About 40 minutes to get everything apart to get to it! The gear change feels good now.
One annoying point is that the bias plate could be shaped with curves, not 90degree angles, that focus the stress.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

    Hand brake adjustment

I followed RAVE, I used a 17mm socket , a 1.2" uni joint and a short extension. I was able to get to the bolt. After about 3/4 of a turn the drum was locked solid. I did not release 1.5 turns as per RAVE as this would put it looser than when I started.

    Rebuilding my 2001 D2 140,000km

    322C3CE3-EDBF-4EE2-892D-CBF37D519BC4.jpg
The other day I found this one owner discovery that I left in my backyard for the last 7 years unregistered. I asked my 19yo son to register it and take it for a spin, but it failed the rego for some “rust” on the exhaust pipes.
So, I decided to fix it. But not just that change it into most capable off road vehicle and got my son, Sam into helping with the work.
So, we am doing the followings
    - new transmission: gearbox, clutch, transfer case and differentials with 3 lockers built by by Ashcroft himself in the UK,
    - Ashcroft heavy duty CV joints
    - Adrenalin Johnny jointed front and rear radius arms
    - disconnect links
    - new ball joints, bushes, wheel hubs, callipers, brakes and brake lines
    - new 2” raise suspension by Terrafirma with turrets
    - new terrafirma heavy duty front and back prop-shafts
    - new RTC steering
    - underbody armour
    - new ABS module (“no amigos”), sensors and brake master cylinder
    - new radiator, oil cooler, thermostat, hoses and aluminium expansion tank
    - new Terrafirma from and rear bulbar with latest12,000lb Terrafirma winch
    - terrafirma rock sliders
    - ARB IQ headlights and LED lights all around

    • new heavy duty GME radio
    • New pioneer stereo
    • Lynx engine diagnostic and monitor kit
    • new ignition
    • New engine gaskets
    • Terrafirma bead lock aluminium rims with Cooper STT pro tires
    • Terrafirma exhaust

The list will continue, but for now we got most of the parts above and after installing a hoist we are in business; at the moment we are waiting for the four transmission boxes to arrive from the UK and for the tools to remove the ball joints.
    Will update

    A breeding pair?

    I bought my 99 Discovery 2 Td5 manual a friend.

    Drum roll

    A 2001 Td5 auto 7 seat.

High kms (500k) but in great condition and I figure most things have been fixed 3 times or more by now.

Is it true if a park them too close together they can make Freelanders?

My experience with them is horrid!
I'd recommend to remove and get a refund and get a proper steering damper.

    Why the new module?
Just do the option b mod for the current one.

The three amigos will come back even with a new unit at somepoint.

Agree 100%. Best way to mask real problems and introduce more.

The rear view mirror fell off.

I wne to adjust the rear view mirror and it fell off. I did a search for rear view miror glue half expecting to find nothing and found several products. A quick job after work.
