    If anyone is fitting these type of Speedo correctors, I'd suggest only fitting it just before the Speedo. If fitted at the SLABS before it goes to the TCU and ECU they can mess up the shifts in the auto and play around with the cruise control

    On the auto it works really well at the SLABS - I think the vast majority are installed there but definately if you've regeared the diffs.
    On a manual however the speedo has to be calibrated with the gear ratios if you are to maintain cruise control and so will be better before the speedo instead if you've gone to big tyres and not matched the diff ratios to the tyres.

    I have mine still waiting for installation, but will wait till summer and same size tires as Yours.
    My studded winter tires are stock size and the speedo is correct, so haven't installed mine yet...

    Can't say I noticed any strange thing's when driving. didn't use cruise control but will try tomorrow. This setting has it from what I can tell 100% at factory, or 99%. Nice to see the correct speed on the nanocom too.

    Almost instant flat tyre!

    I had swapped the tyres over, putting on the muddies for along weekend up around Craig's hut. This morning one of the tyres was flat. I changed the tyre and smart young son could here aileaking out by the TPMS. I had a look and the O ring was not there. I'd like to thanks today's sponsor. Aldi and their O ring collection. One of the O rings, second smallest size fitted.

    I have sets of O rings in metric and imperial from Aldi. "WorkZone" or something. Handy to have around. But I was doubtful. I had a leak from the LPG shut off tap in a Ford. O ring had split. Put one in I got from SuperAutoCheapBarn or some one and it lasted about 30 minutes before the gas ate it. Far as I know the Aldi one is still there. Sold the car two years ago.

    Dunno about the O ring sets, but quite a lot of their stuff is German. Of course, a lot of their stuff also isn't...... Vernier callipers spring to mind. Still, ,fine for 3D modelling..

    Allisport Header Tank TD5 D2a

    After much pondering I purchased an Allisport Header Tank with Sight Glass and Low Coolant Float $661.79 (215 GBP + 110.77GBP shipping)- at least four plastic tanks replaced to date. I wanted some piece of mind after leaking plastic tank sagas and the dreaded fear of a burst radiator hose. (burst radiator hose on a 2004 BMW 318i ~$6k a couple of years ago)

    Tank arrived well packaged but could hear float movement. Seems they have not had any shipping issues as it would be difficult to secure float for transit. The float is tagged as tested.

    Prior to installation I should have retested float circuit and checked tension on the allen headed bolts on the sight glass retaining plate - I think you know where this is heading - perhaps I should have rinsed out the tank as well - hopefully this will not come back to bite me.

    I installed a warning light and buzzer in parallel and connected positive to the 'ignition on -live' terminal S13 on the internal fuse panel (recommended by AULRO member) and negative on the earthing block next to the engine compartment fuse box.

    I checked and tested my circuit before installation - installed in vehicle and connected to empty header tank float switch - turned on ignition - nothing - checked for broken wires, replaced crimped connectors - nothing - checked resistance across the float switch - nothing.

    Emailed Allisport that may have a faulty float switch - quick reply from Allisport apologizing and that they will post out a replacement float. They said that they do not bother retesting the float switches as they come already tested by their supplier.

    AS we are planning a 2000+km return trip to Newcastle next week I filled the Allisport Header tank with coolant from the old plastic tank - no markings on the Allisport tank nor any indication as to where full coolant level should be - as unlikely replacement float will arrive prior to departure and I would be happier with the aluminum tank compared to the plastic tank.

    Took vehicle for a test drive (34deg day yesterday) over steep roads and rough gravel tracks to see if float switch came good.

    On return - strong smell of coolant - found that top allen bolt on sight glass cover no even finger tight.

    Quick reply from Allisport apologizing for my troubles - just tighten bolt - we will dispatch float as a matter of urgency monday.

    Yesterday tightened loose allen headed (AH) bolt and tightened up remaining AH bolts.
    Ran engine at idle to normal engine temp - coolant seeping from around bottom AH bolt and starting to show along sight cover retaining plate/tank join and at base of each of the AH bolt heads - another email to Allisport. Will take for a test drive and retension when tank hot.

    That's disappointing. Hope it's a once off, and you get some proper resolution.
