    This appears to be correct

That blue box contraption in your pic would then be unnecessary

I think in one of the links given it said when you have 3 RCAs one can be used to power an amp for the /a sub, is this the case.
If so what sort of amp whould I have to get (sorry for the noob questions) just something simply

    Many thanks neil

The lower voltage of the low level(RCA) outputs should make the any humming less likely?
May be yours would sound even better with the low level outputs?

Well I might make up a harness and give it a shot. Can't hurt to try and see what its like.

you will probly find the stock amplifier is designed to receive a 1 or 2 volt input and most likely
running 20 watts per channel and it doesn't have the filters to see the higher voltage ..( cant process the information clearly )

depending on you head unit the RCA pre outs should be between 4 and 6 to 8 volts but depends on your head unit specs RCA outputs

I would delete the stock amplifier if your radio is 40 to 55 or 60 watts per channel

    other words

you are using a high power amplifier to control a smaller lower power amplifier

The ES/HSE sound systems have 12 speakers in total with 4 speaker/subs rated at 30watt rms, 8 rated at 15watt

A typical 52wattx4 rms (peak) head unit would struggle to drive them without an amp.
