Do any vehicle manufacturers have them as a standard fitting? If not, why not?

I thought about the possibility of cost cutting, but when I saw how little they cost to buy and then thought about how much they would cost to make, I wasn't so sure.
I can think of other items that are fitted that would probably cost about the same that serve no useful purpose, that some people never use and others even remove.
That made me wonder if in spite of the benefits, there might be some disadvantages.
Surely cost isn't a consideration on some of the high end vehicles. The items on some of them, like titanium gear knobs cost a lot to make and aren't any better than a plastic or wooden one.![]()

About why they are not used by manufacturers.
Manufacturers have to certify their emissions for 100KK without any service.
This is why platinum spark plugs were invented.
No manufacturer uses glass pack mufflers AFAIK also because sound readings are regulated and glass pack mufflers degrade over time.
Does that mean that nobody uses glass pack mufflers?
Similarly I think that the possibility of turbo blankets falling apart in say 3-4 years would preclude them being used by manufacturers but be acceptable to enthusiasts. If a manufacturer used a turbo blanket to tune for emissions and they fell apart , then this could cause an emissions failure and a recall.
Similarly the run of the mill owner who seems to be obsessed with servicing casts would baulk at a $500 bill for a new blanket( superimposing the usual parts markup.) Look how much people whinge over the cost of GPS map updates.

I'd suspect that coking of the oil from retained head would be a serious possibility using the blanket.
Very different in a race platform where the engine is idled correctly or the turbo thrown out and replaced..
The Austin Texas University study found virtually no difference in oil temperature including shutdown.I'd suspect that coking of the oil from retained head would be a serious possibility using the blanket.
it was really that excellent study that encouraged me to buy one.
