I numbered all the pushrods and put them back in order. Took out tappets and inspected and they have no noticeable wear. Took out and put back one by one. The ARP studs felt good...that ARP lube is fantastic and very slippery. Might have Teflon in it. Made the torquing up easy and even. They have a video on their site about it. Cheers

As I torqued up the intake manifold, stuck on coil packs and did a final decrease of baffles for rocker covers I had a think about coolants. It seems to me that OAT has been superceded by HOAT and non glycol racing coolants are not as efficient as HOAT/HAT as as coolant and do nothing to help in freezing conditions AND do not increase boiling point. I think the best bet is Nulon HAT. Their green looks good. Only 109 degrees boiling point at 50/50 mix compared to their premium orange stuff that is 130 however the green appears to be free of a number of nasties that are in then 130 mix....the 130 mix reeks of a Dexcool like formulation and I don't like Dexcool as it appears to leak past anything not perfect.
So will probably go their green HOAT

 AT REST

AT RESTHi Mario. I could feel the honing marks and the honing marks don't look to be under a veneer. Looks like discolouration of walls. It never blew smoke so should be OK. Cheers and thanks

 AT REST

AT RESTI'm no mechanic my any means, but I've pulled a couple of V8 heads in the past that ran on LPG and the bores were never discoloured, they had hone marks and were clean, so that's why the question. There seem to be scratch marks in the last pic in the second bore from the left, like something has gone up and down with the piston? Hard to tell in the pics.
