Can't argue with that, could have been a special order, who knows.

Probably a fleet order. I remember in the early 2000's the accountants at the site I was working at, doing a special order of land cruiser tray backs without the aux tank and radio that were standard at the time to save a couple of $. Took 6 months for them to arrive and then the exploration group had to get aftermarket tanks fitted as not enough range on a std tank which blew most of the savings.

    Cheers

Sorry folks - gave you a bum steer. It was the instrument binnacle part of the dash that was changed over to D2, not the whole dash. The a/c controls would have been the 1999 RRC originals, complete with burl fascis - presumably the same system as a D1.

But taking up sierrafrey's point - given I have a TD5 and TD5 electics/ecus in the RRC, possibly could be doable?

So the question could then be put in terms of would the D2 fascia work on a D1 without lots of hassles - and presumably if so, would just be a D1 type operation, not climate controlled.
D4 MY16 TDV6 - Cambo towing magic, Traxide Batteries, X Lifter, GAP ID Tool, Snorkel, Mitch Hitch, Clearview Mirrors, F&R Dashcams, CB

SADLY SOLD MY04 D2a TD5 auto and MY10 D4 2.7 both with lots of goodies
