Moving off my own thread - how are you off for DII WDH approved towbars/hitch receivers? That is, the Land Rover RAA527 or the equivalent (identical?) Hayman Reese jobbie? Happy to pay freight costs on top of purchase price. (Tho' I'd much prefer to collect it personally.)

I also serviced my auto trans on the weekend and based on below will do it again and again.......
In terms of number of flushes, can someone check my calcs below.
Assumption is a 9.7 litre capacity and 4 litres removed/replaced each time.
Based on that I can see why 4 time gets the nod for diminishing returns.
As for kms between changes, I would think a run around the block and good use of all gears would be sufficient to mix the old and new fluids.

Oil Change No. Total Volume Removed/Replaced ltr Retained ltr Old oil volume % Old % New
    1 9.7 4.0 5.7 5.7 59% 41%
    2 9.7 4.0 5.7 3.3 35% 65%
    3 9.7 4.0 5.7 2.0 20% 80%
    4 9.7 4.0 5.7 1.2 12% 88%
    5 9.7 4.0 5.7 0.7 7% 93%
    6 9.7 4.0 5.7 0.4 4% 96%
    7 9.7 4.0 5.7 0.2 2% 98%

    Math is good.

I make it (assuming atf well mixed between changes, 9.7 L total):

change / volume new atf (L)
    1 / 4
    2 / 6.35
    3 / 7.73
    4 / 8.54
    5 / 9.02

    Thanks Scotch, Works for me.
Task - 543: build a bridge trans flushing device as per Pierre above. Just seems easier....
