I will be booking my D2a into Whyatt's shortly to get the tranny serviced as the rest of the servicing done by the prior owner is pretty suspect after seeing all the crap in the engine caused from lack of servicing is anything to go by

Ive done 187K and my box just lost drive last week (ZF4HP22). Been on its way out for a noticable 40-50K.

I think the box was tortured befor I bought mine as the autos body gasket needed replacing and I was told the auto was black and burnt inside.
I always serviced the box from the time I bought it but the fluid still liked to get dark quick.
I found the anitshudder stuff really helped me get more life out of it.

Now I need to decide if I want to replace the auto with a second hand and sell it for a Series 3 or 110, or get the heavy duty box (ZF4HP24 parts) installed.
Hmmm $$$ either way but I think we all know what I really want to do.

There are 1 or 2 people here I'd pay to fix mine,, if they did that sort of thing

other than that only 1 or 2 professionals,,

the 22 can be specced up to replace/fix the bits that dont cope with hard work,,

    all easily obtainable,,

maybe we need a gearbox repair sticky??

Has anyone here done their own rebuild with a clutch/gasket overhaul kit?
My concern would be opening it up and finding other things that needed fixing/replacing and it being a slippery slope of parts and cost....
