Just driving down the road then the engine ran rough then stopped.
Checked the red connection to the ECU, full of oil.
When cleaned out is it likely to go again or will I need a computer?
Bugger
Mike
Clean that end and also the plug end on the front corner of the engine . It's a round plug from memory on the front drivers side .
should not need a new ECU .
cheers Ean
Right now it has no power but the fuel pump is running with ignition on.
Next?
Does the engine crank at all. ?
cheers Ean
Stand down guys.
NRMA came and I taught him something about Land Rover.
We cleaned every connector up but still it would not go.
I'M OUT OF FUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS ALL WHO MADE SUGGESTIONS.
Oh what a dill!
Mike
Oh well it could have been much much worse .
from memory it's a pain trying to bleed the D2 - got to turn the ignition on/off/on 8 times or something like that.
Have a merry Christmas
Cheers Ean
hopefully no next time ...... but if there is turn ign on and press acc pedal to floor 5 times, the engine light will then flash on the dash and it will self purge , will take a few minutes to cycle the pump , this time can be used to contemplate the timely use of service stations
have a safe and merry christmas all
An easy fix, and bleeding is a simple affair.
