When I got my D2a Phil was running a hot dog in the cat converter location and another in the tailpipe. Horribly drone noisy for backseat passengers - they struggled to hear a conversation with the front seat passengers. Fitted a 2.5" Lukey straight through muffler in the centre and it brought the noise right down.

Agree with the welds issue, that was my main concern....my spydy senses were tingling a bit there.
The ceramic coating is a little above my pay grade at the Mo, unfortunately.
Me thinks I'll just do the grinder thing to remove the webbing, and a spiffy coat of paint. Td5 Exhaust Manifold..
Might throw some cash at the centre pipe, removing the main muffler instead...Td5 Exhaust Manifold..
    Thanks again everyone, much appreciated.

Not sure if your aware, you can get your manifold ceramic coated. Can’t remember how much the quote was but it was far less than an Allisport manifold.

The bellows type ones fitted to the latter Disco's are shockers, the braided types are fine.

I'll measure up the bellows internals when it's removed, maybe even tomorrow.
Also note that the standard pipe necks down on entry into the cat, muffler and resonator.
Not biggies, but it ads up

    Oh, one other thing.
The aftermarket decat pipes are only 60mm diamater, not 2.5" (63.5mm) as the stock system is.
    It all adds up.

So with the allispot manifold, is the longer running design better for turbo lag and power? Compared to the stock manifold

But the entry angle from the long 1&5 runners going into the turbo is awful.
I'd love to see a flow bench and then a dyno comparison before dropping $$ on it.

If you compare pictures of a standard and an Allisport you’ll see that the Allisport has a better design for air flow. The angles will support better air flow.

What about the entry of 1&5 into the turbo?
    That is horrid.
That is a crucial point of flow with a turbocharged engine.

So you guys think the performance gain that allispot says isn't accurate with the manifold design?
