Now tell me the last 8 characters of your VIN cos i have the feeling that the ECU is not the factory fitted one on 2000 MY(you can blank the last 3 digits if you are scrupulous)... these 101340 versions were factory fitted to the strange "hybrids" which were the pre-facelift modells with 15P engines, the transition from Eu2 to Eu3 facelift, from many failed ECUs i've seen i'd estimate that 80% were 101330/340 type

Can you please explain again about the hybrid cars you've seen?

The last revision MSB D2 tune on the MSB101340 does have some reasonably big changes compared to the earlier versions, but it is NOT an EU3 tune, it's definitely very close to an EU2 NNN tune though, far more so than the earlier MSB.

That's the strange thing cos the 2001 pre-facelift versions(not only one) i've seen with MSB101330/340 were factory fitted with 15P engines(green top injectors), cooled EGR but the airbox sensor the early type with 3 wires while the throttle was set to 3 track instead of the normal 2 track for Eu2 so IMO that's a odd "hybrid" setup.

yes that's 10P while the 340 ECU was factory fitted staring from YA288371 into the pre-facelifts fitted with 15P engine so that ECU is not original, i'm not sure but i think there is a slight hardware difference too compared to the "classic" MSBs fitted for 10P engines so it might not run well whatsoever regardless of the fuel map

i'm pretty sure that your's was factory fitted with MSB101193(or 92) based on VIN

See, it helps for the dillema but doesnt help your engine... that's not OK for Eu2 but if you set it to 2 track it might just idle... sell it and find a MSB101193/192 untuned ECU and fit that one if you dont want a remap but if you want remap don't use this 340 ECU, they are prone to complete failure, sell it and buy a proper one or a NNN to be remappped for Eu2

An MSB101340 should support a 3 track throttle ok, and I think that was all you could get in the end for a replacement from LR, so that would be one reason for the later ECU changes. It should also run a cooled EGR as well, but it's turned off by default in the tune.

It certainly supports it cos it was set so from factory but how would that work well with a "standard" Eu2 engine for black top injectors as 3 track settings started from VIN 1A297137 which were certainly fitted with green top injectors... i'm quite dumb when it comes to fuel map configuration, i'm just saying what i saw and diagnosed myself on untuned vehicles

means it's with the wrong ECU since then... aamof i "played" a lot with these and untouched MSB101330/340 ECUs dont accept black top injector codes, they simply reject them when coding is initiated that's why they messed with it... provided your codes are saved correctly and being 10P it should have black tops in it(or blue if they were renewed)
