finally someone has released the same thing I wanted to replace the in dash cup holders. 👍👍

My idea was to utilise the defender square switches instead of the carlingford style ones though

I have been following a company in America called Golden Rovers for just over 12 months now. They have just released gauge pod mounts for D2 and D1 that clip on to the a pillar. I wish this was available a few years ago and I am surprised no other company ever did it.

    here is the link.

They also have a range of other accessories and a brilliant fix for the centre console switch binnacle which I will definitely be ordering.

Golden Rovers sent out a wish list of what they should do next to all their members that were subscribed or on their mailing list. I am really looking forward to what they will bring out next.

    Enjoy 😉

    cheers Chris 🍻🍻

Anyone know of a company that does the A pillar gauge holders to suit the late model Range Rover classics please (in my case a 95 LSE)?

I've checked the links in this thread so far, but no joy, unless one of the generics would work, and I'm not about to buy without being sure.

Love the idea of replacing the utterly useless cupholder thing. I already 3D printed switch holders* for the coin tray/ash tray holes. Thinking cap on for what to put where the cup nonholder is.

Reckon I might steal a couple of the other things as well. Like that "dope" thing for the dash top. 3D printer has been idle for a while.

    * Got a box full of the carlingford type.

I bought the coin tray/cigarette holder replacements off eBay from the UK. When installed they do hang down a bit past the drink holder ( mines broken spring is gone). Looking at the square buttons on the D2 above the coin tray I reckon they would fit neatly and should marry up with the carliingford switch holders

you have the D2 switch holder to utilise as a template for the holes. 1row would be perfect and would hold around 5-6 square switches pending your spacing.

All up if you replace both the Coin tray and ashtray you would be looking at around 11-12 extra switch spaces.😎😎

Been thinking though, now I have a head unit with a screen* I need somewhere other than the windscreen mount for my phone, If I could somehow combine that with the Nanocom...

    * $80 bit of meetoo rubbish, but now I have one I won't go back, just get a good one.

Why are so many saying that the cup holder is useless?

I use mine all the time and find it satisfactory.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
