Expensive option but get one built up out of stainless steel in the shape that you want to fit where and how you want. It's a water reserviour, could be a 2L coke bottle with a pump gaffa taped to it, well probably not Gaffa taped but as long as it works and mounted sufficiently does it really matter where it is? Put it anywhere.

    Hi Cucinadio.

A couple of photos of the D2 washer bottle installation. Filler is a straight tube about 18 inches long with opening in the front left corner of engine bay, next to air cleaner box. I think it would be quite easy to cut this in half, mount the top half somewhere else (out of the way of your second battery) and simply run some hose between the top and bottom halves of the filler tube.

    mate thanks,

uv been very helpfull of late and i now see how and what ur talking about (what a strange place to putt the bloody thing hay ?) the size of the bottle in the d1 is about twice the size of that in the left p/s corner,

so two options are to get a hold of the d2 bottle as u suggested and fit it into the same space as the d2, or even into the space where the jack is ?,or even get a hold of an old gq patrol bottle and put in the space tht has the jack??
this would leave me heaps of space for the new second battery in the space where the big bottle is???

    cheers

I suppose any of those would work. Just depends on what you can find easily to use. As dobbo said - it's only a water bottle. Not sure how many pumps you have on yours - the D2 has two pumps, for front & rear windscreens - assume that D1 has the same.

Just looking at your photos - that's a very different set-up to what I remember from my D1. Can't remember exactly what was in that corner, but the jack definitely wasn't there. Where your air cleaner box is located is where the ABS is in the D2. Another option which might give you a bit of room to play with would be to install a D2 air cleaner box as well as the D2 wash bottle if you could manage to get hold of both from the wreckers. You'd have to move the jack, coil and power steering reservoir. But that would free up the area above the wheel arch where your air cleaner box is now - could probably mount jack, coil & steering reservoir there. Advantage would be that you could fit a snorkel very easily - same as the one on mine. The area where your wash bottle is now located would be free for battery.

I'll be interested to see how you go fitting a second battery in where your wash bottle is now. Will there be enough depth for battery and tray in there with the bonnet clearing everything. There's a fair bit of room in the same location in mine - only need to move a few wires and hoses and that area is clear. Might look at fitting a second battery there myself.
    Cheers .........
