once you find out how simple it is to change D2 headlamps

Hi guys,
when I get my new Disco back from Range rov the obvious next thing to do will be to get better globes in my headlights and foglights located in the bumper.
Is there a common upgrade or globe that alot of members are doing?
I'm after a crisp white light, not the blue lights. Have seen some on ebay, but sometimes you don't know what you are getting.
What's best quality at the best price? Not wanting to spend a fortune here.
How hard is it to change the globes for both headlights and foglights?
Thanks
JB

Not quite legal, but I've converted mine to Bi-xenon HID. It's easy to do - as Pedro has said, there's no problem taking out the headlights to change the globes. The rest of the HID kit is simply plug & play. The conversion has made a huge difference, especiallyto low beam. I don't notice it as much on high beam, as I'm already running a set of Predators. You do need to put a bit of effort into adjusting the lights properly though - HID can be very annoying to oncoming traffic if they're not properly aimed. Once I got them set up properly, I've never been flashed on low beam once, and I drive it in Perth and in the country at night - have also been seen with them on by members of the constabulary on many occasions - including being pulled over for random breath tests & roadworthy checks - and have never even had a comment on the lights.
But I wouldn't waste my time putting anything special in the fog lights. They're only there for looks anyhow and won't give you any benefit no matter what globes you have in them.
Cheers .........

I used 90/100w globes. I was as easy as fitting new globes. A HD loom will help too like the Traxide unit.

Hi BeeJay.
New globes do a bit... but you really cant go past the Traxide wiring upgrade for bang for your buck.
I installed one into my last Disco II..here is the post I made afterward...

If you scroll down you will see some before and after shots... note there was no change of globes or lights... just the wiring upgrade! ( It had Philips Crystal vision globes in all shots..)
Tim advertises on the forum, or I am sure if you PM him (Drivesafe) he will be most helpful..

Another vote for the Traxide kit.
If its a pre-2003MY then its an easy upgrade.
Just remember if your D2 is a 2003MY onwards (polycarbonate lenses and FF lights) then no you don't want to mess with the wiring as the lights are in their own wired pods and it all gets to hard and you definitely don't want higher wattage bulbs.

So is it truly an easy job as I'm a bit mechanically and electrically challenged....?? Step by step instructions??
