Here are a couple of pics of my 2002 Discovery ES I bought two months ago, since then I have driven it around 6,000km and fixed most of the big coolant leaks that have turned up.
As far as accessories, the only one so far is the Safari Snorkel, but plenty on the list to do in the near future.
Cheers,
Chris
The pics where taken last weekend at Stanage Bay in QLD. Great spot.
Cheers,
Chris.
Kelvin,
You head about 75km north from Rockhampton and then take a right turn just after Shoalwater Bay and the Qmag mine. It is then just under 100km of dirt road out to Stanage Bay.
Free camping in Endeavour Park with drop toilet at one end., just leave a token donation at the Plum Tree general store for camping as the local community cleans and manages everything there.
There is no water or fire wood available though, so you need to take everything in and out with you.
Cheers,
Chris.
Hello there.
I've been lurking here for ages, since buying my Disco II, but I've only just got around to washing it and taking some pics.
I used to have a different 4x4 but I saw the light, sold it, and bought a Land Rover instead. And I haven't looked back. Well, maybe a little bit. Unfortunately the "full service history" that I made sure it had before I bought it didn't seem to be worth the paper it was written on. Cue; $4500 bill about a month after buying it to have pretty much everything drained, refilled, replaced and tweaked. Still, it hasn't skipped a beat since then, and my previous Jeep wasn't exactly light on the wallet.
Anyway. It's a 2002 V8, with the worst possible transfer case (no CDL, not even the internals for it) but I've had enough of breaking stuff with extreme four-wheeling, so I'm not too bothered about that. I'm trying to convince the Finance Minister that Santa would like to bring me the "usual" suspension lift and chunky tyres though. At the moment it's more or less stock as a rock. I've added some cosmetic bits and pieces courtesy of a recent trip to the UK and a mate who works for a LR parts dealer, but nothing terribly exciting.
So, hello!
Nice ride Mr.Ed, looks nice. Mind you the Jeep looked pretty good too, but the Disco looks better.
Well done,
;)
bet ya didnt know that the original Mr.Ed had a Phd....(palamino horse doctor)..
sorry..:D
Here she is!
Stock standard D2 V8 SLS ACE. Only mod so far is a coolant level alarm. Looking forward to my tyres wearing down, so I can justify a 2" lift as well as bigger all terrain tyres.:D
CDL, dual batteries and HID headlights also on the radar.
Pic near Thomson Dam.
Cheers,
