    Like the 3 video cameras...
There are a few threads around on how to do this, but I started with a simple reverse camera that operated off the rear reverse lights and plugged into a GPS. The cables are easily hidden and after much deliberation I decided on putting the camera underneath the rear door handle and running the RCA video plug through the rear door, under the carpets via the centre console. 100 KG bond sticking tape to secure the camera and I kept the screws, just in case. Camera no#2 runs to a cheap LCD screen with 2 inputs and the camera is located underneath the rear brake light high mount, again through the rear door, up the side paneling and under the carpets, powered by 12 volt line with fuses. (rear cam 2 is for freeway changes), front cam is powered by a switch next to the spotlight driving lights near the steering wheel and connects to the lcd panel when turned on.

The front cam in situated between the slats on the front grille, RCA and power cable are run using flexible conduit to just where the power cables to the cabin go into the cabin.. Use? Parking. The front and rear cameras and LCD screen (with dual inputs) use bog standard stuff bought cheaply enough off the internet. The freeway camera (for safe overtaking in wet, dark or blocked rearview situations) is slightly more expensive as it will be on all the time.

    Great for tight car parks.

Tools:- Cable ties, electrical tape, voltameter, solder iron, screwdriver set, rca video plugs 8 meters, 6 meters and then another 8 meters. Wire strippers measuring tape screwdriver. Upholstry fitters tool, digicam, printer (to print the location of all the screws you have pulled out and use clear double sided tape to adhere them to the page). A straightened wire coathanger.

I'm not good at how to do type things - but I did install the sound system in the car (however the cabling for most of it was already there).

If you would like some photo's let me know. Most of the things needed you can get from Supercheap, Autobarn, Jaycar, Ebay and bunnings.

I learned that it would cost 400$ Aud to replace it by a professional and that unless you have the right tools and equipment (and someone to help you)it is possible to halve that cost.

Removing it is easy but re-fitting it isn't, the panel used is vacuum bonded to the material and one false move and you have to replace it again if you tear it or move the bonded material. Otherwise if not done properly you will get sags.

I don't know if anyone else has had much success with purchasing a second hand one and attempting to fit it, so you will have to search these or other forums.

Here is an update of the work in progress.

Rear bar to be finished once the sliders turn up. The sliders will be 80x40 RHS plated both sides of the sill with 50mm tube protuding 150mm from the body. The rear bar is similar in design to the front XROX bar with 50mm tube wings right up to the quarter chop.

Very slow progress at the moment, but will get there one day.

    Hi Chris,
I like your rear guard chop, I've been thinking of doing something similar when I get to making a rear bar, but I might not chop quite as high. Keep up the good work.
    Cheers Matt

Been a while since I posted a pic. So I thought I'd post a current one after the wash on the weekend.

    Thanks,

    It's Kent Green Metallic.

Only seen one other on the road here in the UK. I do see a couple more Freelanders in the same colour.
