better economy = longer trips. that's music to my ears. not sure about messing with electrics though... for some reason circuits just hate me. any advice on how to do this or where to get it done?
oh, and because i'd feel bad about posting only one picture, here's one in the current state of disrepair.

Welcome. Plenty of local members have nanocoms - a good investment in its own right - so if you get a remap, plenty of local "help" is available depending where in Perth you are. Jose of TD5Inside in Portugal gets plenty of recommendations for price and good service on this site (including from me) and I have one of their mild stage 1 remaps - set for economy/towing parameters. Of course depends on how you drive too!

    Hey everyone,

I swapped a 2 wheel drive toyota hilux dual cab for this Discovery 2 a few weeks back..

Was running rough and mis firing when I first got her, and the only thing I have done is replaced the spark plugs and leads. Since then she has been running like a dream.

She is stock standard, but in the future I want to install a half height cargo barrier, ball bar (wife says no to ball bar.... nudge bar only, but we will see). UHF Radio, and Winch should see me pretty happy with her.

The photo was taken over the long weekend, about 2 hours north of Adelaide. This was the first time the Disco had ever been out on the dirt, previous owners had only ever used the car on Bitumen.

Will post more photos in the future

    Cheers

    Matt

    00.5MY D2 Td5 - Stock Standard

I've watched this thread for the 5.5yrs I've been on AULRO but never got around to posting a pic of my vehicle. Wish I had done it earlier but there is a reason for it now!

February 2007 I purchased this 00.5MY D2 with 180k kms on clock...my first Land Rover

    Over the years:
    Safari Snorkel
    ARB Bullbar
    Hella Rally 4000 compacts
    Troutbeck Bashplate
    4x4Intelligence recovery points
Traxide headlight & driving light upgrade
SC80 dual battery controller with two Exide Orbits in the right rear bin
    Cargo barrier
Inverter, fuse box and various electrical add-ons in the load space with the batteries
VHF & UHF radios mounted on roof console
EGR mod, low coolant alarm mod
Piranha Battery Tray in engine bay holding an ARB compressor
    Added wheel arches
    Firestone Coil-Rite (Airbags) in rear
Interior lights - updated and added more
    Factory CDL linkage
    Stereo

Member of LROCV - Disco definitely got used for its intended purpose with Club activities and three trips to the high country each year.

After close to 6 years loyal service, great experiences and places travelled, its parked, outside home at 5am where the journey comes to an end. Moron apparently swerved to miss a rabbit and hit the Disco instead. Write-off.

Being Land Rover-less, well its strange, but I certainly was a grumpy sh*t so a deposit has been placed on my second Land Rover, a '01 D2. Pics to come in a fortnight when I get her

    Sad tale indeed Pete.

Hope you get to keep the write off - if not, do a lot of parts stripping so you can enhance the new D2

    Cheers,

    Franz

A horror story like no other mate, sad to hear of your loss.
Hope you can strip bits off the old for the new
If not, you should at least get to strip bits off the bloke who hit you

I'd be buying it back, can't be that bad. I'd allow 4K panels and 2k diff/suspension. Shouldn't have damaged the chassis unless it tore the radius arm mount off.

    My 2001 V8

Finally got around to posting some images.

People say im very fussy about my D2 and keeping it immaculate. But i think it pays off, it feels like a new car. Much to the annoyance of the family I tend to park away from other cars in public car parks to avoid dinks. It does get down and dirty but always brought back to sale condition very soon after.
