Hi, my rig is a 2003 D2a TD5 with a 2 inch suspension lift, safari snorkel, UHF, TJM bullbar, spotties and am now running 265/75/R16 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Looking forward to a few more upgrades shortly.... Aim is to build a capable offroad car with the ability for long touring also. Cheers, Aaron.

Hello. This is my first time on the forum and hope I get it right. I have a D2a V8 auto with no sunroofs, ACE or SLS – less to go wrong. I've done a little 4WD around the Pilbarra where I used to live before moving to Perth, but am setting it up for touring. I realise a diesel would be more sensible, but love the V8 and want to enjoy it before fuel prices and electric cars take over.

To-date my problems have been limited to an air leak on the inlet manifold and two door locks not working. In addition to regular servicing, I've changed the MAF and o2 sensors.

Since buying the D2a i've changed the tyres to Bridgestone Desert Dueller A/T D694LT (265/70 R16) and fitted the following: Safari snorkel, Coil-rite (firestone) rear airbags, Bilstein shock absorbers, EBC slotted/dimpled disc brakes with greenstuff 6000 series pads, Rovacraft steel rear bumper (ARB steel front bumper already fitted), Lightforce 170 striker spotlights, Piranha DBE180S dual battery system with Exide Endurance ED4 (55 AH) deep cycle battery and Baintech dual battery monitor, auto-dipping rear view mirror/compass, D3 gearshift knob, 12v sockets to rear ashtray and rear compartment vent space, Icom UHF IC-440 radio with 4.5 & 6.0 dB flexible antennas, 7” GPS with reversing camera, Garmin GPS and dog guard.

Other accessories are the Icom UHF IC-41S hand-held radio, Hi-lift jack, Rhino roof rack, Waeco 50L fridge, Innova 3130 engine diagnostics OBD2 tool, Bushranger black max air compressor, ARB snatch strap and MSA water bra.

Hi all,

I have just purchased this car a week ago and as yet no mods. It's a 2004 V8 "S" Classic Town 7 seater, SLS (no ACE) with 18" alloys.

Hopefully will be putting a rack of some sort on top soon and possibly sell the 18" wheels and get some 16" rims with all terrains. I've done a bit of research and I think the 16" rims will be easier (and cheaper) to get some decent AT's for.

NIce looking ride, but don't sell the 18's. Keep em, and run the 16's with some Muddies for your play tyres. Best of both worlds.

Anyhow, the wife likes the sticker, and its now her car - so I just peeled the writing from underneath...

Now I also like this...
