I don't have the diff guard but I'm very happy with the steering guard from 4x4 intelligence. They also have excellent rated recovery points and do give a discount to AULRO members.
G/day All
Im chasing a front diff protector for my 03 disco...
i purchased a bearmach front diff protector but im not happy with the way it fits around the d2 diff housing..The supplier in hobart is happy to give me a refund & recommends a qt front diff guard($230) which looks like a better fit but im wondering what other guards d2 owners have fitted & price...
i like the troutbeck steering & diff guard...& have emailed troutbeck for prices on there products...has anyone fitted one of these to there d2... & are you happy with this guard....
Thanks smally4.6

G.day,
Thinking of one my self so your timing is spot on
Was thinking of one from LRA Les Richmond Automotive
$205 and the thing I like is it covers completely the lower 1/2.
I'll be watching to see what else is around
Cheers.
There's quite a few articles on Troutbeck here.
See Post #16 for pricing

Troutbeck is excellent and I have the steering guard on both my Defenders (I got rid of the D2 before fitting one). Len also does front recovery points for the D2. The diff gurad will loose you some clearance but is very solid and I have this on my Tdi 110.
I'd buy Troutbeck over 4x4Intelligence any day as Len's always proved very helpful if you have any issues, something I've found lacking in some other businesses.
As for the Diff Guard, I have a Bearmach on on the Puma it went from D1 to D2 to 11o Tdi (replaced by Troutbeck guard) to 110 Puma. The only real issue with this style of guard over others is the potential for water to sit inside and cause rust. All you really need do though is a lousy job of changing the diff oil a few times and the front of the diff is "rust proofed". But it does pay to remove it annually and check for dirt build up etc. The QT are a much better design and more open construction. From experience if I was buying again I'd forego the Troutbeck and Bearmach diff guards in favour of a QT.

Gday,
I've got the LRA one on the front and very very happy with it. Saved me when I ploughed down into a wash out in Noojee a couple of weekends back
Have got the QT slider version on the rear - also happy with that too.
Cheers,
Matthew
