If anyone can tell me what this means and how to "reboot" this system I would be most grateful although I will probably have to email Italy.
Hmm, sounds like an issue with the device firmware.

What happens if you try to boot the device without the memory card fitted? If you have the same symptoms, the please do the following :

    Remove the memory card
do NOT connect a power supply
Connect just the USB cable to your PC.

If the device comes up as a removable drive then I can help you out with the current firmware here.

The loose files need to end up in the root directory of the Nanocom. (NOT on the SD card. Make sure you leave the SD card out of the Nanocom until we get everything up and running)

If that does not work then probably a return to Italy

Thanks for your reply Peter and the recommendations you made which I have tried but to no avail.
The screen still says Kernel firmware Rev 1.00
    Graphic Controller Firmware Rev1.1
    Error:NC_FIRMWARE DISK not found!!!
I think that some of the younger generation(when they finish laughing) will have to take over from here.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Regards Bob.

    G'day Bob,

What happened when you plugged in just the USB cable ? I assume you are using a reasonably current version of Windows ?

Did you manage to copy the firmware onto the Nano ?

I expect there will be some computer savvy AULRO-ians close to you but if not, I am happy to have a look. PM me if needed.

Well my Evolution turned up yesterday, pretty quick delivery time, and I had no issues with communication or payment.

So I went out for a play tonight and cleared my three amigo faults, it registered 23 intermittent faults. I was tinkering around with the suspension type or transport mode, and now the D2 is sitting on her bum with a self-leveling suspension warning light.

When I drive it pumps up, but the light remains, and dumps the pressure when I shut it down. No fault is logged, and this is the SLABS setting data output:

    • param;value
    • Test Status;ENABLED
    • Transport Mode;ENABLED
    • ECU Calibrated;YES Suspension Type;
    • AIR Left Stored Height;
    • 091 Right Stored Height;106

I've tried changing the Transport mode and Suspension type mode, but it hasn't changed. Any ideas on how to clear or reset this fault?

    Cheers,

    Pete

dustnmud Hi... Sent you an email ...

The firmware version on the nanocom restricted site is for the older unit.. Information in the quick reference guide (download from Nanocom Evolution area) outlines a procedure to create a restore file from which it can restore the NC_FIRMWARE, in case of file system corruption..

    [URL="http://web.nanocom.it/download/NANOCOME%20VOLUTION%20QUICK%20REFERENCE%20R1.0.pdf "]

Very important to create that restore file before exploring the potential of the new unit... Keep a copy on pc as a backup...
Will post some pics of the unit in action... soon..

    Hi mirror11726

I had exactly the same with my new Evo. After a few days I found the answer.

    With the ignition on
    1. Go to DiscoveryII
    2. SLABS
    3. Scroll to page 2 and Go to Utility
    4. SLS HEIGHT CALIBRATION
    5. Raise left and right to the desired height.
    6. DO NOT STORE HEIGHTS
    7. Click the X 3 times
    8. SLABS
    9. SETTING
    10 Scroll to next page
    11. Check left and right stored heights are similar and WRITE SETTINGS
    12. turn ignition off as it instructs.
    13. Do not touch anything for 60 seconds as it says.
    14. click OK

Hopefully switch engine on - no fault light - car stays up.

Well I cleared my ABS fault, the ride height needed to be between 150 and 180. Got the car to the correct height and saved the settings. All good.

Lesson learned: don't press buttons to see what happens

I'm thinking of buying the new nanacom.

The site talks about a future "expansion board" allowing sensors.

Is this a hardware modification to the "Evolution" that you need to open it up and just “plug in” a component? Or is this some serious modifications?

If I do buy one, my old nanacom (never used) will be for sale

    Hi once more,
All is good now. I mailed Mattia and He was back within the hour with the suggested fix and the offer of a replacement if it didn't work out. It did, and I've been busy for the last couple of hours finding out what it can do.
Probably wont post much for a while, guess you'll know why.
Thanks for all suggestions and interest
    Regards Bob
