@ jafir
Indeed there are at least several hundred sets of files for all the variants of all the flashable ECU's, and that is just for one Model !!!!!!
Of course figuring all this out and managing them is no small or simple task, which might explain why no one else does this.
But as you see, we have this well sorted
Regards Licensing, as with pricing, i am not yet able to reveal more detail about this, but i will say that the Nanocom Evolution does not have the capability to securely store VIN information.
@ clubagreenie
No, there is currently no upgrade to cover the stand alone Hella Cruise control ECU fitted to the V8 versions of a Disco II, nor to fix any of the minor problems that have since been discovered on the nanocom's existing coverage.
But as i have explained in my previous posts, once we get this CAN BUS coverage sorted and released, we will then be free to revisit the existing coverage.

My current (continuing) saga is the continuous shutting down or freezing in gauge mode. Get about 5min if lucky and it shutdown or freezes the screen and needs to be restarted. I recently had cause to disconnect the battery and for the next 6 days had faultless operation and on the 7th day it reverted to it's uual operation. Any other mode it will sit there happliy running.

Hiya clubagreenie.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your guage mode.
Is yours a V8?

Yes. Have been trying everything I can think of. Would supplying power via the power socket possibly overcome it? I was thinking its a power or earth issue in the OBD port, or is there a pin I should check for power/earth?
The other thing I thought was is there a memory issue it could be? Just that when it was powered down for a few weeks when the auto was replaced it came good as well. Does it loose any saved info and then fill?

I had trouble with mine communicating with the SLABS and after sending it back to BBS and testing fine they sent it back with a suggestion of using 12v feed from the lighter socket, did this and things work fine, mate it couldn't hurt to try it with yours

supplying additional power and ground is certainly worth a try as indeed Markndeb states, you have nothing to loose.
Power is on pin 16 and earth on pins 4 and 5 of the OBDII socket.
But when you measure it, you should have the Nanocom connected to supply the load and be aware that this might not show you any intermittancy.
Your memory effect seems very odd too. I don't know of anythi.ng it stores that could do this. Could it be coincidence.
Try a battery disconnect and see if you can replicate it

I know if I leave the battery disconnected for a minimum of four hours it resets the effect for 6 days, any less time disconnected and it stays the same.
If I run a couple of logging multimeters on a circuit between 16 & 4 and 16 & 5 to isolate which circuit has the fault and then log that circuit on both +'ve and -'ve sides independently for continuity it should get it down to showing if it's a supply/earth fault and where it is right?

That is indeed correct clubagreenie, but simply supplying a more direct power and ground via the DC socket would initially prove this to be a supply issue as opposed to something else.
And i have to say that from your very concise and much appreciated replication and report, the affects of your power disconnection and noted results does point to this being something else that is very borderline
Although my Nanocom dev tem are clearly currently fully focused on developing the CAN bus stuff, which would be unfair to distract them from, when this is done i will return their focus to all possible problems and bugs that have come into light on the existing coverage.
If in the meantime, you can rule out all other possibilities, i would happily have them add a few delays in the V8 Motronic gauge mode software and supply you with a test copy to see if this sorts your problem out

Would anyone know if this update will give more functionality for the pre-canbus vehicles? Colin mentioned more options on the p38 BECM, but does that exclude pre 98 (non canbus) BECMs?

Hiya benji
I am afraid that you may have mis understood my comments.
I mentioned the P38 BeCM and D2 BCU ECU's because to date they have been the ECU's that provide the highest amount af settings options of any ECU the nanocom already covers. Please note that it is the ECU itself that defines what setting options can be accessed, and the nanocom already provides the ability to adjust every single setting that is possible to diagnostically access and adjust in these.
I was referencing them only to ephasize an aspect of the challenge my development team faced in respect that what they had faced before were vehicle systems that at most had a few dozen settings, where the new CAN bus based vehicles have more like a thousand settings in their CCF file.
I also need to clarify what i mean by CAN bus vehicles.
While some earlier vehicles do have a private CAN bus for data exchange, that was typically between the engine management and Auto Box, these are not what i mean when i refer to CAN bus vehicles.
What i mean are the vehicles where the CAN bus is connected to all ECU's on the Vehicle as well as the Diagnostic socket, and Diagnostic communications are performed to all ECU's over that CAN Bus.
These are currently
Discovery 3 2004 to 2010
Discovery 4 2010 to present
Range Rover sport 2005 to 2010
Range Rover sport 2010 to 2014
New Range Rover sport 2014 on
Freelander 2 2007 to present
Range Rover 2010 to 2013
New L405 Range Rover 2013 to present
Range Rover Evoque 2008 to present
Defender 2007 to present day.
Note that for the Defender this will be only the CAN Bus systems, but it is included as the other non CAN bus systems are already covered by the Nanocom.
I hope this helps clarify
