Thanks guys - looks very promising, especially for those who have modified their vehicles.

I have a MY04/05 softdash RRC with a 1999 D2 TD5 engine and Jag 4HP24 autobox, plus including D2 OBD port and "modified" RRC ABS and P38 EAS. Most of the basics I can read with my Evo, but hopefully more to com from this. Cheers

Many thanks for all your kind comments of appreciation.

As many nanocom owners and followers will know, it has now been quite some time since we last produced an upgrade with the, then, final few known problems and bugs in the existing coverage finally sorted.

In fact i believe it was mainly for the new process of writing TD5 Maps.

With the system then pretty much totally debugged, and the Range Rover P38 added, i set my nanocom delelopment staff with the task of bringing the Nanocoms coverage much more up to date by adding coverage for later CAN BUS vehicles. A step that will assure the Evolution has a very bright and valued future for us and existing owners of one.

This was by no means a small ask.

At least a dozen different models, with more being added, upwards of 20 Vehicle systems on each, Car Configuration File editing, effectively this means providing an ability to edit near 1000 settings instead of the couple of dozen of the D2 BCU or P38 BeCM.
And so far the only ECU you can flash with the Nanocom is the TD5.
On CAN BUS vehicles pretty much every ECU can be flashed.

All using communication protocols they have next to no knowledge and experience of.

And all this has to fit within the very limited space the Evolution has for Firmware

While i would have hoped things had gone smoother or faster, inevitably with the many technical problems we have faced in achieving this in such an innovative way as we have, it has taken a simply vast amount of effort and time.

But finally as you see from the Demo Video, it is now finally coming together and hopefully should be finished to a releasable stage soon.

Of course during this time, some new and relatively minor bugs have been discovered in the current coverage of the Nanocom and even one in the Nanocom one. We even found one this week. But nothing so major that i believe could not wait, was enough for another upgrade release or would warrant distracting my nanocom development staff from what they have been so deeply concentrating on.

That we have now got to this stage with the CAN BUS coverage development is therefore good news for everyone.

The moment it is ready for release, i will of course then put my guys onto the small but growing list of minor bugs in the existing coverage we have been compiling, and in all likely hood these fixes will actually be incorporated in the next firmware upgrade along with the CAN BUS coverage.

This is so awesome! I cannot wait. I especially like the fact that it can update the firmware.

Will we be able to get firmware for the D3 from your forums in the same manner as the people with faultmate?

    @ Jafir
Will we be able to get firmware for the D3 from your forums
We decided to use our on line Genesis System and its immense capabilities to provide a suitibly advanced solution for supplying the firmware files as well as for doing the CCF Editing.

It is really brilliant and so ultra simple to use.

Each owner will get an account on Genesis so they can log in

here is a link to the Genesis site

    http://vbf2.blackbox-solutions.com/F...Genesis-Server

For those wanting to go have a look and play for themselves, we have set up a demo account you can use.
User name = demo password = genesisdemo
It uses Java and currently there is one plug in it uses that needs updating, so you might get some pop ups you will need to close before you enter the user name and password.

Then you select between the CCF editor or Flash file Download.
If you select the CCF edit you will also have to choose another option to use the copy of the as built file from blackbox.

Then you enter your vehicles VIN number.
Here is one for a D3 you can use if you dont have one
    SALLAAA439A509100

On the CCF you can toggle between basic and advanced modes before you chose a catagory and edit what you wish, as you wish. On the Flash File download you choose the vehicle system and can add other filters to help guide you to a final choice, after which you double click on it to get the info page for it and the option to download it.

In both cases you end up downloading a file you can save on your PC, or directly to an SD card.

Here is a short screen capture video that shows how super easy doing either of these really is.

    http://www.blackbox-solutions.com/download...nesis.html

Either way you simply put the files on an SD card that you insert into the nanocom evolution and when you click on ECU Programming, are then presented with a list of files on the SD card which you can select from and the Evolution intelligently does all the rest.

    @ nuwhue

Will there be any Christmas cheer associated with the new launch.
We will certainly be pulling all the stops out to get this firmware upgrade for the Nanocom released before Christmas. As long as we don't find any significant last minute problems and as it is so easy to update the firmware, i guess it would not have to be totally perfect as if there were any small bugs we could follow up with another firmware upgrade to fix these soon after.

Although in one respect this is just another Software upgrade for the Nanocom, rather than the launch of a new product. It is however clearly a seriously significant advancement in taking the Nanocom from covering only vehicles that are 10 plus years old to ones to coverage of even brand new models.

As such we will certianly be looking to do some kind of introductary offer for this that would hopefully co incide with Christmas

    @ Rok_Dr
Thanks for your understanding, patience and appreciation steve, and indeed all existing nanocom owners.

You will hopefully know the immense amount of time, commitment, effort and money I, helped by many members on this board have previously put into re working the nanocom Evolution and de bugging it's software and vehicle system coverage to the near perfect stage it is at today.

Our temporarily switching to concentrating more on adding this new coverage might make it seem like we have forsaken and forgotten that origional commitment, but that is certainly and absolutely not the case and after all i have already done, it would be ridiculous to imagine i would not want to expend the very small amount it would take to fix those few final things that have been discovered to once again make this absolutely 100% perfect as soon as we can.

I'm amazed at how many programmable modules show up in the firmware download page. I just cannot wait.

Have you worked out the licensing yet? Will it be like it is currently with D2 where it can be used on any D2 with the modules you have codes for, or will it be licensed for one vehicle?
