Have you asked the supplier,?
But if you want a remap and clear faults, record data Bas does all that, Read Thebes group buy thread
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I've been going through the various options also.
BAS (Bell Auto Services) has the remaps and a reader in one.
It can be used with an iPhone or ipad.
Not sure if that will continue as our phone's get updated?
BAS Performance Remaps. Landrover tuning at its best!
I don't want a remap and prefer a stand alone unit for connivance.
The Nanocom from what I have read will not allow the user to flash an ECU but they are working on it.
Maybe PM Colin from BBS to confirm before you purchase if this is important to you.
From the their web site...
"The functionality of the Puma Defender engine management and Instrument pack is quite limited in what is actually available to read and change but we are working to add flashing of software to these ECUs. Functions include reading and clearing of faults, changing of settings such as Speed limit (not removal), Fuel tank volume and Tyre size are available. You also have the option to view Inputs which is live data being transmitted from the ECUs."
I'll go with this unit as the other functions I'll use.
The ability to purchase unlock codes for other Land Rovers models is handy also.
The other various units I've found are VIN locked so 1 vehicle only.
No good to help others if out in the middle of nowhere(or suburbia).
Good luck, I know my head hurts from going thorough it![]()
I went to the BAS website, it seems to clear fault codes etc. and I love the idea that I can use my iPhone. I need to do more research on it (time).
If anyone has the BAS and is using it from an iPhone, I would love to hear your feedback.
Any idea if the Nanocom will be iPhone compatible in the near future?
Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
Used it with an ipad and a Sony android tablet. The ipad was fine, the android was a bit troublesome due to the s/w version on the Android. So apple may be better as they have less frequent sw changes

I have the BAS tool that came with my 170HP BAS2 upgrade. I have used the tool a few times to reset two faults that get generated when the intercooler hose blows off and puts the vehicle into limp mode. Saved my ass a few times - from and a long wait, a tray top ride and probably a few days without my D90!
The interface to my iPhone works well. You can select whatever parameters you want to watch. I used this feature to enable me to "take it easy" when the intercooler hose was back on but had leapt off a few times that day. I displayed the manifold pressure and kept myself to below a value to minimise the risk of the hose blowing off again. It worked and a few days later I'd ignored the self imposed limit and the hose blew off again.
I now consider the BAS tool to be my most important tool to carry in the D90 - along with the phone of course.
