    Scangauge II or IIA

Has anyone had any experience using the latest scangauge 11.
I have read from some of the american L/R sites that quite a few people have used them over there, but am wondering if any has used them over here.
I know that there are various types of scangauges out there, but I believe the scangauge 11 is the best for the L/R's.
    Thanks

Yep, I've got one on a DII V8 auto. Works a treat. I have heard it may not work on Td5, but cannot confirm.

You just plug it into the OBDII port under the driver's side dash and work out where to put the readout panel. I have it on the dash top in the centre recess at the moment till I can think of somewhere better.

Yo will need to set it up - teliing it the tank capacity for example. I had to correct it again slightly after - I don't know why. It has been as accurate as trip meter and tank to tank fill measurements. You can get it to correct for speedo error (and odometer error) but you need to establish true speed with something else (eg GPS) and then correct it in the ScanGauge II. Give you lots of useful info and can scan fo error codes and clear them too.

Yep, have posted about it here somewhere before. I have used it on two 1999 D2 V8s (won't work on Td5) with great success. It tells me all sorts of useful info like my coolant temp reaches 102 degrees sitting in traffic (so may need a new radiator or thermostat soon, viscous and themos okay) and when taking my kids to daycare this morning I averaged 35L/100km

    So really, don't buy one

I have not heard whether the ScanGauge will work on a D1 though, it needs a functioning OBDII port. Something makes me think it won't have one, so you should try to confirm that first. Did you do a search?

I don't think it will work with the D1 since the diagnostic port isn't OBDII.

I'm pretty sure that when I was talking to Dave from Wooders Garage in Jan that he said that these would work with anything OBDII compatible.

    Scan Gauge

Well guys, I just took delivery of a Scangauge.

I was a bit apprehensive to see if it would work with the New Defender however it was a snap to install and worked stright out of the box. Time will tell how it goes, and how accurate it is, but its pretty cool.
