Right, I've just successfully updated the firmware to version 2.02.

Had a moment of worry when I changed windows on my PC part way through the update. When I went back to the firmware loader it said "not responding" and the bar graph didn't move. I let it go and it completed successfully after a minute or so. If this happens just wait. Better still don't mess with the computer until after if finishes.

I noticed there was no update to the PC software on the Nanocom site but I fired up the most recent version (2.02) and it has now a Valeo BCU option in the menu. All looking good so I'm off to have a play.....

    Here's a screenshot btw-

As LandyAndy says, the ignition switch looks like it must be in the run position. I got the 0 odometer display too. Wasn't really expecting that.

Lots of scary looking stuff in this new update. The real odometer display doesn't come back on straight away. Seems to take a couple of seconds for the ECU to reset after shutting down the Nanocom. Thought I'd somehow reset the odometer to zero for a few seconds...

Anyone know what a "bathrobe lock option" is?
Perhaps it prevents you unlocking the vehicle unless suitably dressed

There's also some kind of "police" setting. Maybe it makes the Landy sprout big flashing lights on the roof.....

I've only played with the safe options and checked switches and run the windows up and down. Going to do some reading before getting too carried away.

Maybe we should submit what tests we've done etc and compile some documentation on testing and configuration.

    Anyone else updated their Nanocom?

Bathroom Lock Option allows the vehicle to be locked with the key in the ignition and the engine running. The locking is performed with the second key. In this scenario, the alarm is not activated, however all hinged openings are locked. This allows you to warm up or cool down the inside of the vehicle before driving.

I have noticed some bugs in this firmware release:

    1. The Valeo BCU "Settings" can incorrectly display the Transmission, HDC and TRC details depending on the ignition switch setting.

    2. Writing BCU Settings are confirmed as successful, however if the ignition switch is not in the Run position, the write procedure does not commit.

    3. "Transit Mode" reads SET where in actual fact it is NO SET on the vehicle. If this is set wrong, the security of the vehicle is compromised. It seems Nanocom have it back-to-front.

FYI: Transit Mode prevents excessive battery drain during transportation of the vehicle after leaving the factory. This mode disables the Volumetric sensors, Passive immobilisation, Immobilisation of the vehicle by use of the door lock inputs, Ignition key interlock, Electric seat enable time-out with driver's door open.

    4. Intermittent activation of the "Limp Mode" warning lamps whilst interrogating the BCU. This can be reset by starting and stopping the vehicle.

This is what I found out in a couple of hours of use. I will be emailing Nanocom on my findings.

This may interest some. My car is 99disco and finally got into BCU - seems the only way it will work on my car is-
    • connect nanocom with key off
    • turn key to run
    • bcu will now connect
If i try and connect after key is turned on or any other combination it won't do it Good news is - settings seam to read ok, even the transit - are they different on updated models.

One cool setting - Front Power windows. Can change this one to allow windows to operate after doors are opened. They are still on a timer but it heaps better than disabling after the faster passenger throws the door open.

I read somewhere a while back that "Police" is for when it's used as an emergency vehicle the headlights and reverse lights flash with the roof mounted lights

i cant get the single lock option to work. whenever i try to change from inactive to actvie, it justs clicks the door motors a bit(doesnt actually move the door locks) on and off until i get sick of it and unplug it, or choose "off".

has anyone been successful in enabling this single lock function?
