    That's what I thought.

If we do get the house, the first thing to do will be to put up some fencing along the split driveway (the neighbour & this house are like battleaxe blocks - each having a 10m wide driveway). He'll lose some of his driveway when the fence goes in as where he runs it now broaches this property.

I'd be taking his pipe out and throwing it back onto his block, thats rude.

I thought about putting something untoward down it .
Or cutting it at the boundary & keeping 40m or so of good quality HP water hose & his fittings .

I'll wait until contracts exchange then have a quiet word.........

I really cant believe that, just because no one is living there and he thinks he is entitled to take the water. You should report him for theft and have the police knock on his door

LOL, or you could take a basket over to his vege patch and start picking stuff for dinner, when he comes out and asks you what you are doing just reply, "well my water helped grow them so i figured i'd help myself like you did"

A couple of other suggestions, cut the trees back around the pool and get a good pool cover other wise you will be spending all your free time scooping crap out of the pool. As much of a pain it is, keep your gutters clean, with that many trees around get a blower vac to make it easier.

and refilling the pool with evaporation rates in summer its a waste of water aswell.

Hmm, there's now a problem with this 'split' driveway.

After having the solicitor go through the contract (another story ), it seems this driveway situation is rather complicated.

He has his 10m wide driveway & I have mine, also 10m wide. The problem is that we both have rights to use each others driveway which means that a fence cannot be put down between them.

I can put a fence down on my side of the driveways though but this presents another problem. The house is built very close to the boundary (why ??) & if I ran a fence along the side of my driveway, it would run along the rope line below:

By chance, I happened to be measuring the driveways to work out where my fenceline is & the owner of the other driveway (the water tank pilferer) came along. I introduced myself & asked if he knew about the driveway situation. Well, let's just say that he's not a happy chappy. He knows all about the driveways & told me quite bluntly that I couldn't put up a fence between them. Then his tyres got a workout & he left in a hurry.

Also, the neighbour on the other side has decided that he needed a bit of land clearing. He's cut down a tree & it's fallen across the circular section of 'my' driveway (it does a loop around the front of the house & joins back up to the main driveway, behind the large rocks in the above picture):

I initially thought it had just fallen over as it's a dead tree but no, it's been cut down & taken out the surveillance camera wiring with it:

I had always wondered why the previous owner had installed at least 3 security cameras & now I have 2 reasons why.
    1. Because he couldn't fence & secure the house.
    2. Because the neighbours are fruit loops.

I am getting the impression that both neighbours are quite happy to have an empty house between them & are trying to put off potential owners.

Does anyone here have experience with this sort of problem, the fence I mean, not fruit loop neighbours? I don't know why the driveway situation would even be the way it is - 10m each is plenty enough.
Can this be changed somehow or does it need both parties to agree to the change?

One option is to run the fence to each side of the garages but this is not how I would like to solve the problem as it leaves the garage doors vulnerable.
