The only waves I've garnered in the last two weeks have been from Disco's and brand spanking new Rangie

The Rangie driver waved like crazy (he started it ) as did the Disco drivers who damned near caught me out

Every bloody Defender driver has just ignored me or looked at me as if I had three heads (and mostly sported Qld rego plates too )

It only takes a small effort to lift somebody's spirits by being friendly and waving.
I just returned from my local shops and whilst there, I saw a beautiful Defer with SVX number plates and gave a big wave. A big wave and smile was returned and once the Defer was wrestled into a parking space, the driver came over and introduced herself to SWMBO and myself as Gaye.
Lovely to meet you and looking forward to meeting others in our travels.
(The personalised plates will be on the car soon, so it will be easy to spot!)
    Cheers,

    Hello Taxi.
That would have been ours. Gay said she had met you. Glad to hear she waves. To me she always whinges about "that truck" but secretly I think she likes it.
    Welcome to the forum

I went for a trip down the coast and back over Christmas / New Year and waving was everywhere but mainly from Defenders and 1 Toyota.

Highlights were a Defender waving from three lanes across going the other way on a divided highway. A farmer in a small town that just reversed out of his driveway but managed to lean half way out the window to wave. An ex army ambulance that waved across a round-a-bout. A Defender driver who let me know he was soon to be leaving his flat, level and nicely grassed camp site in an hour if I wanted it. I've also learnt that driving a Perentie means that the Army guys start waving at you as well.

The Toyota was left hand drive on Swiss plates. Always good to see people bringing their vehicles over here from other countries.

I wave at all Series and Fenders and if i get a wave from a RR or Disco owner i'll return the wave.

I've had a pretty decent run lately, got a great wave from a white Defender a few weeks back at the intersection of Maroondah and Warburton Hwy really nice looking well set up truck and then just the other day i managed 3 from 4 waves on the Warburton Hwy from Fender owners, snobby Puma driver failed to return the wave!

Then this morning on the Monash got a wave from a Defender and a Series2

Without thinking, I waved at an old RR today near Redlands while out in the Focus - AND HE WAVED BACK!

Reminds me of 50 years ago when I was a kid on the farm and everyone waved at everyone cause we were neighbours.

Our wave count is seriously down

Just travelled through NSW, VIC and all around Tassie..we waved at all and sundry but only got a few back

Except to the tassie LROCT who we did a trip and had a BBQ with they waved often

Now who can ignore a RED 130 defender with a tray top camper on, they are not that hard to miss
