Impassioned Turnbull defends climate change science

    Quote:
"Delivering the Virginia Chadwick memorial lecture last night, Mr Turnbull said a war was being waged on scientists by "those opposed to taking action to cut emissions, many because it does not suit their own financial interests".

I doubt Mr Turnbull attends this forum. He drives a Prius and lives in Vaucluse (or near there), sips skim milk latte and wonders what the poor masses will do without him.... And I doubt he'd ever own, let alone use a 4WD.

I've never met him, but I think he's a belter.

In any case IMO he is a better option than Abbott who looks only for his own political interest and do not give a dam about Australia or the Liberal party.

I agree. I think that Turnbull is a far better option for the Liberal party than Abbott. I actually dont think that Turnbull fully agrees with the oppose at all costs policy of Abbott, and has a more sincere objective in politics. Mind you, this was not evident at all with the cash for cars debacle. I wondered this morning when I heard Turnbull if he would be taking the LP to the next election because I think that what we have seen of Abbott is probably all there is to Abbott, where Turnbull has more to offer, has done a lot of growing in Politics and is more sincere for a politician. Turnbull has as much backing within the party as what Abbott has and I think that he has much more appeal to the voter that looks beyond the mindless propaganda front of politics.

The video was from somebody called LiberalBias....... and it clearly showed an opposition to the Agenda 21. It just surprises me that if this is a fair view, then why did all of the countries of the UN still sign up. There must be more to the story.

An informative piece by Annabel Crabb on Abbott and carbon at: Freed from facts, Abbott goes ballooning - The Drum (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). Not very long, worth a read, light and entertaining.

That sad thing is that there are so many educated (and uneducated I guess) people out there that would rather believe the inconsistencies and lies rather than actually look at what is out there and searching beyond that which is not based on evidence.

Thank you Karl for the post.

    Quote from the article:
In fairness, no-one can claim that Mr Abbott didn't warn us about this. Twelve years ago, during the republic referendum campaign, he did point out rather forcefully that politicians weren't to be trusted. In the first of two memorable interviews with Kerry O'Brien last year, he warned voters not to believe anything he said unless he put it in writing. In the second, he warned especially that he shouldn't be asked anything much about the internet, seeing as he knew diddly-squat about all that stuff (he is a papyrus-to-the-node kind of guy).
Mr Abbott, when interviewed in 2009 by Tony Jones about his thoughts on climate change, confessed to have read none of the IPCC report and just a bit of the sceptic Ian Plimer's book before arriving at his opinion that climate change was a bit overdone. "I don't claim to have immersed myself deeply in all of these documents," he told Jones. "But look, I think I am as well-versed on these matters as your average politician needs to be."

    End of quote

The sad part it is that his popularity or the popularity of his ideas are a reflection to the intelligence of the electorade.

    .

Dig deeper and you will find out why all countries signed Agenda 21. Bob Brown a sunday on the ABC a week or so ago called for a One World Government to control the enviroment. Bob Brown also do want the media bnanned from talking against the Enviromentalist's Agenda. That is what this is about control, and introduction of a Police State.

Alan Jone's comment this morning on Radio told of a guy who opposed Communism a few decades back who was asking if we people in Australia would have to rise up against our government oppressing us through a carbon tax, like they rose up against Communism.
