No probs with speed here. I pay some decent dollars for a good land line connection. Tried all the wireless crap - they were truly awful. AULRO loads pages faster than some others I think, but they all pop up pretty much instanly. If you are having speed issues, it is your connection, and not this site.

I find it a bit slower from work, but thier connection and bandwith is limited compared to my home line.

The site has been very stable since the upgrade, and I have had no 'Busy' messages or any other problems since then...

I know not everyone has access to decent internet in this country, or wants, or can afford a decent connection, but it is all these things slowing this site down for you - not the site itself.

    Cheers - Gav

That's all very well Gav, but I have no choice than a wireless connection as my nearest landline is 5km away. But thanks, now you've informed me that wireless is generally slower, then I'll just live with it.
Doesn't explain why only Aulro is giving my connection issues though.
Computer Jargon is all Chinese to me so I apologise to Incisor for not responding to his post.

I use Telstra connections both at home and work and have no problems with the download speeds of this site at all.
Sounds like many of those with problems are using different carriers which aren't up to speed, for the want of a better term.

    cheers,
    Terry

Most of my hang time with loading AULRO is seeing the progress message saying "waiting for pixel @ quantserve . com" so it isn't strictly the site but the hangers-on. And that's on Bigpond broadband.

I find there's a massive difference between accessing on a mobile versus on this desktop at home.

Both are 3G connections (No ADSL here, thanks to Telstra's investment program), but BIG difference in load times.

Never an issue with home 3G connection.

Bill, what browser are you using ?

It could be the external ads as Inc suggests.

If you have Firefox use No Script as an add on, it blocks most of the ads unless you allow them and speeds the loading of pages on a dodgy connection.

I have found that loading times seems to vary. Sometimes very fast and other times it can be a bit slow.

I am not complaining though, just forwarding my observation.

x2, however IME (since the site upgrade) it is only ever ads that slows the site down.

Sorry, but judging by the comments about line connections and ISPs some of you are not getting it . I simply don't think it is an issue with connections, ISPs or otherwise as other sites load up very quick and then there is AULRO. Read the posts by Bill and others. We clearly state what we get.

Aulro, slow as a wet week as always

I too get this. Slow load up and sometimes not loading at all and I simply see the Aulro banner and the ads with no forum or page loaded underneath it. I have the choice of two connections. One at home (commercial broadband deal) and one at work (University staff large capacity). Both 'pipelines' seem to offer the same. Other sites quick, AULRO slow and sometimes incomplete page loads. Doesn't matter where I connect my laptop from. It may be that it is the Browser so if we can have some comments on what to watch for in browsers maybe we can sort something out. I use IE 8.0.6001. Should we who use this browser go into the workings of it and turn things on or off? Have it in mind we are most likely not computer language literate... pictures are good

Anyway, as I have previously said, a great website to persist with but persistence has limits often reached while trying to reach this site...

Oh, and don't confuse bellyaching with trying to sort out a problem... That would just be silly...

    I never have any problems with the speed of AULRO. I use it in the following locations;

    Train: Next G, laptop, Firefox

Office: ADSL, Internet Explorer inside Terminal Server

Home: Telstra ADSL, desktop PC with network cable or laptop wireless, Firefox
